Beach Camera; went with them since they were an authorized LG dealer so that if I do have to have any warranty work done there are no issues. It was havable for less at other non-authorized dealers and if you lived somewhere with a Fry's there was a killer deal on it last month.

That's a really tough question...

If you let me know what your intended use (visual and/or astrophotography) would be, I could offer some suggestions.

I intend to use the scope I just bought as a guide scope for astrophotography, and also as a portable scope for when we travel. I'll do some imaging with it as the imaging scope, as well.

In your case, since you presumably don't have anything, you need to buy a scope, as well as a mount. Both these items depend on your intended purpose.

Want to look at moon/stars in backyard, and maybe hook up a digital SLR to it at some point.

I just paid off my car, so I think that would be considered a purchase.

Re: Last thing you bought...

Just ordered on Amazon and arriving Saturday. I started with kimchi and ggakdugi for my Mothers Day meal (and have since made another batch of each). Now, I have a corn relish fermenting on the counter. I've got the fermenting bug now, and want to make Jewish deli pickles and some sauerkraut, so going to experiment with this vacuum system. Kraut and pickles take longer to finish, so this will help reduce the risk of mold or making a huge mess from the ferment bubbling over.

Re: Last thing you bought...

While I was on vacation, a major thunderstorm came through the area. Got home last night to find I have some damaged electronics, and ordered replacements from Amazon:
  • TP gigabit switch
  • Intel gigabit Ethernet interface card
  • New DSL modem for my mother-in-law's apartment w/integrated wi-fi and gigabit ethernet switch. The storm killed her ancient Westel DSL modem, so this seemed a good time to upgrade her to something slightly less ancient (6 year old tech vs. 10 year old tech)

It's actually funny as I write this. All of the damage is to Ethernet hardware, at two physically separate locations.

Looks huge but if you can charge 2 electric cars with it I guess it's ok.
