In Toronto For 2 Days
Hey everyone. I’m headed to Toronto for the first time (actually my first time in Canada as well) for 2 days of business early next month. I have absolutely no clue where to stay or what sights to see. I went on trip advisor but it just seems like there is an endless amount of attractions. I was thinking of staying at the Hilton downtown (there map says its close to a variety of districts). Can anybody make some recommendations on attractions and/ or a hotel? Thanks in advance!

Absolutely this. Of course, a love of hockey would help, but even if not, it's still so historical that it would be pretty darned worth it.
I never went to Casa Loma when I was there, but it seemed like it could be pretty cool. (Never went up in the CN Tower either because half our party was scared of heights.)
I'd explore a lot of the shops on Yonge St. Many great restaurants, bakeries, coffee joints (at least there were 18 years ago... damn, has it been that long?) along the street. I don't know if the World's Largest Bookstore is still there, but that was a fun hour plus that could have been a lot longer and still a blast.
I hope it's still as great as I remember it. Enjoy!

If you're renting a car, I'd reccomend taking the hour drive to Niagara Falls. So far everyone I've taken there has found it a lot more inspiring and mesmerizing than they were exepecting.
But if you're staying in the city, it's a toss up between the Brass Rail and Zanzibar.

I stayed at One King West. Seemed pretty central and decent.
The Hockey Hall of Fame is pathetic. If you are there on business, as I was, good luck with that. It closes at like 4:00 PM. Ridiculous. While the city is big and highly populated, it's not like NYC where stuff stays open. At night, after 9/10, only bars and restaurants are open.
CN Tower, the big Times Square type place on Yonge St. Shopping. Two days really isn't enough time to do anything except walk around and soak it in. Toronto has a whole underground you can walk around in since it's mid winter.
Also, if you are looking for breakfast, go to Marché. Found it my last day and it was pretty fantastic. They have a bunch of locations.

My fiancee raves about this place - she said it's her favorite restaurant anywhere which surprised me.
