Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

Getting my bonus tomorrow. It's usually $80 or so. This year prices increased and we lost some clients so i expect it to be less this year.

We get a bonus but it only comes if we meet some QA and financial goals, usually not till April

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

We don't get a bonus but if you haven't used any sick time you are allowed to sell some back and get it on the check before Christmas. I sold back the max: 35 hours (I have close to 600).

No Christmas bonus here.

I'll give the same answer I gave last year... nothing.
And like last year, I can't complain because I have a job which pays decently.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

As usual, I get 10% of my salary. We also get a unique Christmas present, sometimes it will be a winter jacket or something with the company logo, but the last few years they've been fancy custom statues from companies like Sideshow Collectibles, which is way cool.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

I gave them out again this year. All things considered, that's a nice feeling.

$500. Same as last year. However, since our business was down, it was unexpected to get one at all.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

We got ~$200. First time for a Christmas bonus, so I hope we aren't losing our usual bonus we get in April. Especially since that one has always been quite a bit more.

$500. In yrs past it's been a gift, which were 50/50 hit and miss. We didn't rent out a place for the party like we usually do...though the office wasn't as exciting, everyone went home happy.

Ditto, but I guess being employed could be considered a bonus these days.

The same bonus I get every year. Nothing.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

Oddly, I got what I would consider a "Christmas" bonus, which is rare since I work for the gov't. Apparently they had some left over money based on budget surplus, so they did a merit bonus, which we got a few weeks ago. It was 2.8% one time bonus, which was $1400 pre-tax, so I ended up with about $950. Was a nice surprise, and something I hope they continue to do. I'd almost rather have that once a year near Christmas time than say the 2.8% as a raise, spread throughout the year.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

Nothing from my full-time job (gov't.), but I got $50 from the boss at my weekend part-time job (non-profit art gallery). She even gives me a few paid sick/personal days per year, as well as holiday pay if they're closed on Saturday or Sunday.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

Got $1500, taxed at 36%. Better than last year, and I never expect to get anything, so I am very, very pleased. Especially since I get paid so poorly and struggle to pay bills and buy food, never mind ever go out or buy fun things. Very appreciative of it and happy to have gotten anything, particularly something that good.

I want to look my boss straight in the eye and tell him what a cheap, lying, no good, rotten, far flushing, snake licking, dirt eating, inbreed, overstuffed, ignorant, blood sucking, dog kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat assed, bug eyed, stiff legged, spotty lipped, worm headed, sack of monkey shit he is!!! Halleluah!! Holy shit!! Where's the Tylenol??

$200 plus 5 days worth of salary for having 10 days over the 45 day max sick time accrued.

Plus I worked a partial day on Christmas Eve so I get a comp day for that.

Since my employer isn't doing well, I gave them a bonus and donated a part of my salary back to them.

Oh, you are talking about what bonus I got...well, same as evey year...nothing, although I am thankful just for having a job in this tough economy, which is a bonus enough for me.

Re: Christmas Bonus 2012 edition

Bonus? Lol...I haven't had one of those in a decade. I can't really complain bc I'm happy I have a stable job, i enjoy it, and I don't work more than 35-40hr wk. I can work more if I want more, but I'd rather work "part-time" hours. 70-80hr weeks will never happen again.

Same here...bummer is, last year was just above $9800, and this year I'll be lucky to see 10% of that. Financials are not that different from last year, but management metrics have changed for the worse. :(

Since I don't get bonuses for Xmas - would you guys mind letting us know what industry you're in? Sales commissions, and company profit sharing don't really count as Xmas bonuses imo...

I'm a systems admin for a small (105 people) electrical distributor. We get $50 cash every year, that's our Christmas bonus. We get 2 profit sharing bonuses, March and September. And I can sell back 50% of my unused sick time, so this year that will be 17.25 hours sold back. But, like you said, none of those other things count as a Christmas bonus.
