YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

No, probably not a direct equivalent, but close enough for a poll, I think.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

I'd prefer Target, but Wal-mart is much closer.

Target is a little more expensive, but nicer, cleaner and better overall. Much preferred.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

Wal Mart is practically a third world country. Is there such thing as a fourth world country? If so, that's what Wal Mart is.

I live about a mile from a Wal*Mart and the nearest Target is about 25 miles away so...

Target

Wal-mart, no matter which location you go to, always has a cheap, shitty, weird, white trash, low rent vibe to it. Even the brand-fucking-new supermarket they opened near my place feels... funky.

Plus, you know, their whole ethos of annihilating mom-and-pop shops, outsourcing everything to China, treating their workers like complete and total shit, hiring inbred fuckheads...

Buzzzz. Wrong. It goes back and forth, but Target was cheaper than Wal-Mart slightly last month: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...n_1827883.html

Target all the way. Even the nicest Wal-Mart is still filled with the dregs of society. But it also helps that the closest Target is 2 miles away vs. about 10 for Wal-Mart.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

I guess it must be because I live in a big city, but I've got multiple Targets and Walmarts within 5 miles of my place.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

I prefer Target, but when I'm running errands, it's out of the way. Wal-Mart is centered around the typical places I go to, so I usually stop at there. If I'm going out for something specific, I try to go to Target.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

All the WalMarts here are open 24 hours and are Super WalMarts.

As for the people that shop there, I am not there to socialize or make friends. Just want convenience and low prices.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

Since moving closer to a Target, I shop at both but more so at Wal-Mart.

While I agree with this 100% I go to Wal-Mart more often for these reasons...

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

I'd like to say I frequent Target more than Wal-Mart, but I don't. While Wal-Mart is a deplorable place, Target gives me a weird vibe for some reason. I do love Target's fresh popped popcorn though.

The practical reason I shop at Wal-Mart more is our Target does not have a full grocery store in it. I don't shop for clothes or electronics, or purchase house brands, at either store.

Of all of the Target store that I have been to, they have always been cleaner than Wal-Mart.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

Walmart for canned and packaged items or anything branded that is the same anywhere. I won't buy their weird, saline solution injected meat, though, and their produce sucks where I am.

Target for home items like decorations, bedding etc, as well as clothes.

I occasionally shop at Target, but only because it's just at the bottom of the hill.

Target:  it's closer and it's not a zoo like our local Wal-Mart.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

I prefer the local Walmart. Better product selection and faster checkout lines. We usually do the weekly grocery shopping at Walmart anyways. But the prepared food, produce and meat department sucks. We get that stuff at Kroger.

This.

I also get my nails done at the Regal salon there every two weeks and do some of my grocery shopping there. The rest is at Aldi, and I'm not there to socialize with the welfare mothers, either.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

Walmart is a leper colony and I only shop at Target. There was not a poll option for "only".

Target seems to employ cuter girls than WalMart, too.

And the hot mom ratio is about 100 to 1 in favor of Target.

Target has their own credit card that gives you 5% off of everything you buy so I prefer Target.

Re: YASP: Wal-Mart or Target?

You want me to pick between Target and Wal-Mart? What am I, rich? I don't go to upscale places like that.
