Herbalife Systems

Has anyone had any experience with the weight management systems or supplements?

I've put on like 20 pounds in the last couple of years and I just turned 38 and have been feeling lazy.

I wanted something to give me a boost while getting me health again.

Should I buy or run away?

Run away.

If it's your laziness that's keeping you from getting outside and walking (or running) and choosing a better diet, no amount of money you spend on weight-loss gimmicks will shed those 20 pounds.

Walking/running is free and buying healthy foods (fruits and vegetables) is cheap.

I lost four inches off my waist in a year and am in the best shape of my life at 39-years old with a $30-a-month gym membership and a healthy diet.

Hell, spending $5 on one men's health magazine that has nutrition and workout tips will yield better and quicker results than these weight management "systems".

In short, stop being lazy, man!

It's not that I'm lazy. I work 6 days a week and I'm active its just lately I feel like I get tired faster and not feeling as good as I used to.

Ah, you are old. Exercise helps you feel better, but you have to start doing it for awhile before it starts to work.

A giant pyramid scheme.

They built their empire selling to suckers, not making people thin.

I asking about the product, not the business model. I don't intend to sell Herbalife I was interested in using it.

Right, and they told you, it's a scam

None of this shit works, unfortunately the only real way to lose weight is to control your input and exercise or get surgery. There isn't any kind of miracle supplement.

In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say that it will likely hurt your body more than it will help it.

99% of anything with the word "herbal" in it doesn't work.

What's your diet like? Diet is significantly more important than exercise. Most people tend to overestimate just how many calories they eat every day and underestimate how many calories they are burning in exercise. For example, an hour of moderate exercise may only burn about 300 calories. A large Coke has about 300 calories. So if you're one of those people who like to chug down a large Coke after a workout, well you actually just negated the entire workout in about ten seconds. Losing weight is 90% diet and 10% exercise. All the exercise in the world isn't going to help if your diet is complete junk.

Re: Herbalife Systems

And Kroger chimes in with something nonsensical...

If you are feeling tired all the time, get a checkup and make sure you aren't actually sick. Then, pay more attention to the quality of your food, and move around more.

Walk briskly, even if you're just going up and down the halls at work. Get a balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates. Try to choose long chain carbohydrates (grains) over short chain (sugar). Get more fiber. (that's right, eat your vegetables!)

You don't have to do anything drastic, just pay attention.

Re: Herbalife Systems

Oh yeah... that advice isn't about "losing weight". It's about feeling better. You may lose weight, you may not. But, you'll feel better.

It is, but if I had a dime for every person that mistakenly calls me kroger I would be a very rich man. I am so used to it that I tend to ignore it now.

Re: Herbalife Systems

Product is make-believe. Save your money. Do something easy at first so you don't burn yourself out like an fun physical activity and pick one of your guilty-pleasures and end it. 10 minute jog 3 times a week and kill french-fries and see how that feels. If that routine works out, add to it slowly.

If you like podcasts I suggest these guys for science-based tips, research, and help. Plus they're fun.
