I don't have one, but I'm having all sorts of problems with my 2003 Saab 93 and considered looking into the new Optima with Turbo. After some reading and indepth reviews I was quite impressed.

I work with a woman who owns a 2012 (Sorento) and uses it to haul up to four kids (ages 8-17, I believe) around on any given day. Let me know if you want specific answers about anything, and I will pass it by her. I believe the only "maintenance" problem she has run into was the steering wheel cover beginning to unravel, but it was replaced under warranty.

We have an '11 Sedona we bought new. The cd player won't read disks now, but other than that, we have been super happy. The player is covered under the warrenty btw.

i have a 2012 sedona that i got in december 2011. no issues with my kia at this point, other than a dead battery like 3 days after getting it. but that's b/c it was sitting in a lot, unused for many months and was probably toast to begin with.

Kia and Hyundai used to be crap; they have gotten far, far better in the last 5 years. They are the best value in their class for many of their models now. For example, if you want a new minivan, the Sedona is by far the best bang for your buck.

I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of a Hyundai 5 years ago but I know 4 separate people who have had them in the past few years and all are great cars. They really turned a corner (pun intended!).
Still not sure about Kia - I know a couple of folks who have had problems with them in the first 10,000 miles.

I've had a 2005 Sedona for about a year and a half now. I've had two problems with it: a part on the front wiper motor went out and the timing chip that runs the pistons went bad. The piston chip was expensive since they had to take a good chunk of the engine apart to get to it. Other than that, it's been a great car.

ive got a 2005 amanti.. never had any issues at all
corrie has a 2012 sorento... had some issues with maint lights.. took kia techs too many tries to get it worked out.. but was of course fully covered under warranty and we were given a replacement vehicle when needed.. she loves the vehicle itself though.
before her sorento, she had a 2005 sedona that she really liked... liked it enough that she wanted to stick with kia when we replaced her vehicle.

Kia is one of the best choices these days, they have really come on in the last few years. They are getting towards Toyota and Honda levels of quality, at an often significant savings in price.

I'm a proud owner of a 2012 Kia Soul. 4,000 miles on the odometer so far, and I'm loving it. Hopefully, I'll still love it after 100,000 miles.

You'd still buy a Kia when you say pre-2010 is "pretty bad"? It's 2012.

My Sonata has kicked my A6's ass in terms of reliability. (Both are right around 160K now.) But the A6 is a lot more fun to drive when it's not in the shop, so there's that.

Anything trumps a glorified VW in reliability.
VWs were the worst cars I ever owned. They always started though.
We currently have a Toyota and an Acura and the word "reliable" is never even a consideration. Never had one single issue with either of them.
