Re: Any Lawyers in here?

There are a few lawyers here, but I'm not sure if anyone does copyright law. I hope you get the answers you need.

Dude, you're fucked. Kwon can't help you now. The MPAA are going to own your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, and your great grandchildren's flying car.

This is not the DVDTAlk way. Post your problem here, so all the lawyers and dentists can opine on your troubles, and you can ignore their advice.

Part of your problem is a lack of spellcheck

How about you start dispensing legal advice, and I'll start dispensing medical advice? We should probably start up a separate thread.

Well, he's an ex free-base addict, and he's trying to turn around, and he needs a place to stay for a couple of months.

If you have read my previous posts I had to stop buying dvd's and trying to sell off the ones I have now. In doing to I make the stupid mistake of downloading movies from the internet tru torrent and now my cable company is sending me notice and subpoenas that they have to send my name and address and ip address to the lawyers that is representing the movie industry. I can't sleep at nights. I'm not kidding guys. It may be funny to some but not to me, not right now.

First up: NOT LEGAL ADVICE.

For what it's worth, 99% of people who get that letter never has it go anywhere if you just ignore it. The 1% who are unlucky settle out of court between 2k-8k. Now this is if I'm understanding the type of letter you got correctly. You can Google the form letter to hear other people's experiences.

I suggest you either stop downloading movies, or protect yourself if you do. Typically, one does that by using a private tracker (not piratebay) and installing peer blocking software to improve your odds. But to be 100% safe, don't illegally DL TV or movies.

I wait for Bando to post up legal advice and do the opposite. It's worked every time!

No wonder cable companies are second only to cell phone providers in hatred from their customers.
