RIP Dick Clark, 82
Dick Clark Dead at 82 'Massive Heart Attack'
My sister and I would watch Bandstand every Saturday. Very sad
Dick Clark -- famed TV producer, and "New Year's Rockin' Eve" host -- died from a massive heart attack this morning ... TMZ has learned.
Clark's rep tells TMZ, the TV icon had been in St. John's hospital in L.A. after undergoing an outpatient procedure last night. Clark suffered the "massive" heart attack following the procedure. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
Clark was 82.
Clark's health had been on the decline since he suffered a significant stroke in 2004 -- forcing him to retire from his hosting gig at "New Years' Rockin' Eve," which he created in 1972.
Ryan Seacrest took over in 2006. Dick has appeared on the show sporadically ever since.
Before suffering a stroke, Clark told Larry King he also suffered from Type 2 diabetes.
Clark was married 3 times -- and has 3 children from his first two marriages. He is survived by his current wife Kari Wigton.
"For now, Dick Clark ... so long."

See? You can work 80-90 hours a week and still have a long and productive life. RIP.

Man, one of those guys you just figure will always be around like Johnny Carson, George Burns, or other people that died. He was amazing. I loved the commercial that showed him over the years saying hi to his doorman, who continually aged while Dick never did.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Dick Clark. He had a huge impact on the entertainment industry and will be sorely missed by all. I think I used to watch every show he had going on back in the day. American Bandstand on Saturday Afternoons, $25,000 Pyramid on weekday mornings and TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes" in Primetime.
Even though he had a storke and was limited on what he could do on the New Year's Eve Show, it still won't be the same without him. RIP Dick, you entertained generations with your work and I for one would like to say thanks.

It was awkward I agree, but he was the symbol of New Years Eve for a lot of people and I for one was glad he continued to do the show even though he was limited. Inside his brain I think he still enjoyed it even if he slurred his speech and didn't sound like the Dick Clark I grew up knowing.

I made the joke tonight that there must be TONS of porn stars who are celebrating that the "World's Oldest Teenager" title is up for grabs.
My favorite Dick Clark moment:
