RIP Dick Clark, 82
Dick Clark Dead at 82 'Massive Heart Attack'
Dick Clark -- famed TV producer, and "New Year's Rockin' Eve" host -- died from a massive heart attack this morning ... TMZ has learned. Clark's rep tells TMZ, the TV icon had been in St. John's hospital in L.A. after undergoing an outpatient procedure last night. Clark suffered the "massive" heart attack following the procedure. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. Clark was 82. Clark's health had been on the decline since he suffered a significant stroke in 2004 -- forcing him to retire from his hosting gig at "New Years' Rockin' Eve," which he created in 1972. Ryan Seacrest took over in 2006. Dick has appeared on the show sporadically ever since. Before suffering a stroke, Clark told Larry King he also suffered from Type 2 diabetes. Clark was married 3 times -- and has 3 children from his first two marriages. He is survived by his current wife Kari Wigton. "For now, Dick Clark ... so long." |

82. Not too bad. Condolences to the Clark Family.
Condolences to the Seacrest family if he's next. |
Re: RIP Dick Clark, 82
I wish I look as good at 82 as he did. RIP.

See? You can work 80-90 hours a week and still have a long and productive life. RIP.

Wow. New Years will be different this year. Well we might not need it since the world is going to end in Dec. Maybe this is a sign? ;)
:rip: Big Guy. You were an entertainment legend. |
Re: RIP Dick Clark, 82
Heard that his real name was Penis Clark but he had too change it because it was too "ethnic". He will be missed.

Man, one of those guys you just figure will always be around like Johnny Carson, George Burns, or other people that died. He was amazing. I loved the commercial that showed him over the years saying hi to his doorman, who continually aged while Dick never did.

So, Van Helsing finally found where Dick slept during the day? Too bad. So long, Mr. Clark.

Re: RIP Dick Clark, 82
Very sad to hear of the passing of Dick Clark. He had a huge impact on the entertainment industry and will be sorely missed by all. I think I used to watch every show he had going on back in the day. American Bandstand on Saturday Afternoons, $25,000 Pyramid on weekday mornings and TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes" in Primetime.
Even though he had a storke and was limited on what he could do on the New Year's Eve Show, it still won't be the same without him. RIP Dick, you entertained generations with your work and I for one would like to say thanks. |

Yeah, we won't be subjected to him slurring his way through the countdown. It was probably the most awkward 10 seconds on television. He obviously loved doing it, though, even towards the end.

The Pyramid was one of my favorite game shows growing up. Obviously the symbol of NYE. You had a good run, Dick.
