Toast, yay or nay?

I was just wondering everyone's thoughts on toast. I view it as a way to make bread even more delicious. I'm definitely in the yay category.

Hells yeah toast!

And only lightweights butter after toasting.

You have to put the butter on and then toast.

... if you want to totally destroy your toaster.

It's true that for oven toasting, you should put the butter on first, but in a regular toaster, no way! Ever try cleaning the crumb tray in a "butter the toast first" household? BLECH!

And to the OP: Yes times one hundred. Tea and toast is my favorite breakfast.

One of my brothers gave me a toaster oven for Christmas several years ago. I never used it, and wound up giving it to a niece or a cousin or somebody. He uses one all the time because he eats frozen dinners. I do have a very nice KitchenAid toaster, though. It's part of their pink appliance line. I also have the coffeemaker and the measuring cups in pink.

Frozen dinners are to be cooked in a microwave.

Re: Toast, yay or nay?

I love toast! I toast my bread for all of my sandwiches. I only use Nature's Own bread though - either Double Fiber Wheat or Honey Wheat. I like the size of the pieces.

That reminds me of Mariel Hemmingway's character in Delirious, who always ordered Lox and Cream Cheese on Cinnamon Toast.

That is the best...especially with a hangover. It's like the chips and dip of breakfast.

Re: Toast, yay or nay?

I always make sure and order a side of toast when I order breakfast someplace, for the purpose of the aforementioned yolk-sopping.

Re: Toast, yay or nay?

I had dinner at a breakfast at a diner the other day, and ordered french toast, bacon and eggs. Without thinking I ordered the eggs sunny side up, and realized I had no bread (french toast in more egg is horrible) to dip into the yoke. My wife looked at me funny when I requested another side of toast.
