I'd love to hear how much he's paid for hookers and drugs. Probably 10x as much.

Even though he brought it on himself, I feel bad for the guy. He seems like such a tortured, unhappy guy. Never able to break free from his demons. I feel just as bad, if not worse for Martin Sheen. He's such a good person, probably the most stand up guy in show business this side of Paul Newman. It must be hell to have to watch your son go through all this knowing theres really nothing you can do to make it better for him. I really hope he can get work after all this. His issues aside, I always thought he was talented as hell and has done a lot of great stuff in his movie career.

Video surfaces showing HIV-positive Charlie Sheen 'performing oral sex on another man and smoking crack-cocaine' in 2011

A new video has reportedly surfaced, showing Charlie Sheen smoking crack-cocaine and performing oral sex on another man the same year he was diagnosed with HIV.

The troubled 50-year-old actor made headlines last week when he went on the Today show to confirm he has been battling the virus for the past four years.

While Sheen said it was 'impossible' for him to have spread the virus, multiple sex partners have come forward saying they had unprotected intercourse with the former Two and a Half Men star and that he didn't tell them he had the sexually-transmitted disease, according to media reports.

Stay winning Sheen!

Unless it features Denise Richards in her prime, I have no interest in a Charlie Sheen sex tape.

Wow, this guy is/was a completely out-of-control hedonist. Robert Chambers should play him in a movie.

There used to be a time when an actor would marry a woman for life to hide the fact that he was gay because he was worried the stigma would ruin his career. Charlie Sheen held a knife to his wife's throat on Christmas eve and people still watched his show! He broght porn stars to dinner with his family and fucked them in an adjacent hotel room and then went batshit and the police had to come.....you know the story.

What has happened to the world when behavior like this doesn't effect the ratings of your show whatsoever? I'm an open minded young guy and I don't get all sanctimonious about things (I also don't watch his show), but how can his show still be big with so many Americans?

Where the fuck have all those people gone?
I think our world is beginning to come more fully into focus.

Iíve been reviewing some old posts this morning. Go back and reread and relive the Charlie Sheen saga. Why did people tolerate this particular type of absolutely abhorrent behavior? And what role did it play in where we are now?

Americans are in love with Sports and TV/Movie/Music stars. They are the real heroes. They are the gods. Far more important and respected above all others.

I may have posted in here already, but one of my friends went to Sheen's standup tour thing, knowing full well it would probably be a shitshow. But he wanted to be a part of the moment, and see just how bad it would be.

This and the movie "Men at Work" thread get bumped from the dead at the same time.

If it's so in focus...why do people still tolerate Quentin Tarantino movies or other hypocritical directors who say they are against one thing...but direct just the opposite of what they say they believe. Oh wait, they only do it because..."our audience demands it and we must humbly accommodate."

I'd say having the power and resources to create overly-violent movies at will as a director who is "loved" by his fans...is way more dangerous than a comedian who's addicted to drugs and sex.

But yes, I would agree, Hollywood in general has paved the way for us to get to where we are now.

Re: The Charlie Sheen meltdown appreciation thread [Update HIV positive]

A fiction film with special effects violence is pretty different than actual real world violence where you hold a knife to your wife’s throat.

Violence has its place in fiction.

I guess the hard part is that people can't process that information safely.

lol. He said it was awful, and left early. This is coming from a guy who loves lowbrow random shit, and considered Freddy Got Fingered a masterpiece when it came out. If that tells you anything.

Read the scientific studies.

Your mind doesn't know the difference. Exposure is exposure, whether real or fictionalized. We've known this for decades. Your subconscious doesn't distinguish the violence.

Your conscious just keeps you "sane" while watching fictionalized violence, but even then it can be fooled (i.e., films made to look like real-time live recorded environments, etc.).

Why does your brain always take you to a perpendicular angle of what’s being discussed or shared?
