typeracer

this is sort of addicting in a strange way

http://play.typeracer.com/

after 20 games, I'm rated at 80 WPM, "megaracer" by their ranking

no idea how someone could go 178 WPM, that's pretty insane.

Re: typeracer

I averaged in the 60's after 3 games....

How do folks type 100+ ???

after that game, posting here seems real slow.

Re: typeracer

I typed over 100 in two games and they forced me to take a "special" test to prevent bots I guess with squiggly words. Scored 119 in the test, so they say I can now go up to 25% faster, but I don't envision ever typing over 120...

Re: typeracer

I'm getting between 90 and 100 in most games. If I know the quote in advance I tend to do better.

Re: typeracer

I played twice. 36 and 39 respectively with 95% accuracy. Not bad me thinks for someone who has to look at his hands sometimes.

Played a 3rd game. 48wpm. 95% accuracy.

Re: typeracer

Haven't checked in awhile.

http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php

75 GWAM, 0 mistakes. A few slipups, which hurt my GWAM. But it is an honest, accurate number.

Re: typeracer

Took me a couple of games to hit my stride but then I typed 101 WPM with 100% accuracy in three consecutive games.

Re: typeracer

Anyone remember the old Apple II game where you're a race car driver and you have to type the words to continue the race?

Re: typeracer

It took a few tims to get warmed up. Once I got my average to 80 wpm, I stopped so I woudn't lose the megaracer label.

Re: typeracer

104 and 108 for me at 99% and 100%. It would probably be a bit faster on the first one if i didn't go back and correct my mistakes.

Re: typeracer

78 wpm. 98% accuracy. That's sitting on the couch with the keyboard on my lap. I'm sure I could do much better at a desk.

edit: 6th game. 95 wpm. 99.1% accuracy.
