Twenty-eleven or Two-thousand-(and)-eleven?
How do YOU say the year?
I say "Twenty-eleven." The other way (with or without the "and") sounds wrong to me. It worked in 2009, but even hearing that style in 2010 sounded strange (and there was a thread about that, I'm sure).
So... VOTE! (or die!)*

Of course!
But seriously... 2010 was more of a mixed bag, I think, since people were still transitioning between "two thousand and nine" and "twenty-ten" or "two thousand and ten."
I promise -I- won't start the thread next year.

whoever started saying two thousand as a year reference is whack...
we never said one thousand nine hundred. it was nineteen hundred.

I always said "two thousand XX" until I started hearing people calling it "twenty XX" and realized that we weren't walking around fifteen years ago calling it "one thousand nine hundred ninety-six", unless of course it was a wedding invitation.

I didn't say Twenty Ten so I'm not about to say Twenty Eleven, just doesn't sound right to me, even though I said Nineteen Ninety Nine.
Two Thousand and Eleven just sounds awkward to me, so Two Thousand Eleven it is...

It probably should be "Twenty-Eleven," but old habits die hard. It worked for the last century because that's what we grew up saying, but after years of using "Two Thousand" in the year, it's going to be difficult to get people to say it as "Twenty-...." It's kind of like how Lego bricks are not supposed to be called "Legos," but good luck getting people to change.

So, is that one-hundred-twenty-five years or one-hundred and twenty-five years? Or is it one hundred-twenty and five years? Or is it ten-twelves-and-five?

Two thousand eleven. Not sure why.
My fifth grade teacher used to say "Hundreden is not a word". [two hundred 'en five, etc.] in an effort to make us say "two hundred five".

Twenty-eleven, just like it was twenty-oh-one, twenty-oh-two, twenty-oh-three, and so on. For the sake of consistency, I like to carry forward the way it was done last century. Nobody said, "The year is one thousand, nine hundred and seventy eight", or what-have-you.
