(Yet Another Help Steve Find A Thing To Buy Thread)

For reasons of convenience/lazyness, I need a watch or clock that will clip or stick onto my gym bag. The idea is I want to be able to see the time without having to sort through the bag and get my phone out of its case to know what time it is. Believe it or not, such an item would help me out a great deal, multiple times per week.

In a perfect world, this item will sell for less than $5 shipped and be available from Amazon (I have Prime). I don't think we live in such a world, however, having searched a bit on the site.

I've also dug around at cheapo places like Meritline, and haven't found anything suitable.

If it was a perfect solution, I'd probably pay $10. But considering all I really need is an ultra cheap digital watch face with a sticky or clip back, I'm hoping something like that actually exists.

Anyone know of such a thing?

Your thread title sounds very confusing to me. I need some time to think about it before I can help you!

Re: Yahsfattbt

why not just buy a cheap watch and latch the wristband around one of your gym bag's hand straps?

It's a possbility, but:

A) I still need to find a cheap watch that'd serve that purpose.
B) I have to leave the bag somewhat unattended, and I figure a watch would be more tempting to walk away with than a weird, one-purpose clip-on clock.

not less than $5, but available w/ Prime: http://www.amazon.com/Profile-Clip--...1485553&sr=8-1

looks like the reviews suck, though.

definitely not less than $5, but looks like the reviews are good: http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T73751-B...1485645&sr=8-6

I have a nasty cheap watch on the handlebar of my motorcycle. I once came out to my bike to find that some thief had taken it off for a closer look, and then left it there.

I should have specified non-sucky reviews. But I do like the idea of a big display and weird unappealing form factor.

I'm now starting to think that I'll end up with a $2 watch. Where do I find those again?

Re: Yahsfattbt

I like those last two. Thanks! Shipping pretty much kills the last one, and the first is OOS. I'll browse through dealextreme to see if they have other stuff. I hadn't checked them out yet.

Re: Yahsfattbt

Ended up getting this:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.46947

I like the general ugliness of it. I'm a bit concerned that the clip might be too small, but assuming the clock part works well, I could glue it to my bag. I'm also somewhat concerned its durability, given that this 2-pack of clocks costs $2.30 but I'm willing to take that chance.

Re: Yahsfattbt

Check your kitchen junk drawer. You may already own a timer with a clock on it. They often have clips on them as well.

Update:
My 2-pack of clocks arrived today. One works perfectly, and the other seems to have a few LCD lines out. I already clipped the working one to my bag. It shouldn't be too tough to read when I need it.

I already put a nice piece of electrical tape on the "correct" side to save me ~.5 seconds every time I have to use it. (It's a see-through design, so it's easy to look at it through the reverse side.)

I'm declaring victory.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.
