Re: Feel like critiquing some art?

I liked the last two only. The photos either look out of focus on the subjects or in the lake/canoe one, the wood in the foreground is competing for my attention (not in a good way)

I liked the 2nd to last one best!

I feel exactly the same way. Maybe I'm not a good judge of photos but I know what I like.

Re: Feel like critiquing some art?

What's the subject in the first picture? It looks like a photo an appraiser would take for a commercial property.

Second one looks like something that would be framed in a low-end furniture store as décor trying to make the place look hip.

Third one... how is this art? It's a photo of a butterfly, and not a particularly good one at that.

Fourth one: I get that they are trying to use the wood as a framing device in the photo, but everything, from the lighting to the subjects to the angle screams dull to me.

The fifth one I like. Seems very pleasant. Good use of color, although it's a little flat.

The sixth one is really, really clichéd.

The cat is the worst one. All the smudging looks terrible and the tail doesn't even look like a tail anymore.

The second to last is a nice looking painting.

Re: Feel like critiquing some art?

1) Absolutely amazing. It looks like a real tree. Is it clay or paper machet? How did you attach the leaves?

2) Also amazing. I see the sailboat.

3) This makes me think of a "growing up" narrative, only there isn't a caterpillar present so I think the meaning may be lost on some.

4) Still life (wood), and the stillness of life (kayakers). I actually cried a little.

5) Meh.

6) Meow.

Well, Mister...

You QUOTED 'ME'.

Instead of just posting your opinion AND GOING ON YOUR WAY...you chose to pull me (BY THE THROAT) into the 'RING of TESTOSTERONE'!!!

But Seriously Folks...

I wasn't saying it like...

Spoiler:

...I was just wondering if you were INTENTIONALLY SPREADING YOUR VENOM all over my pleasant opinion of that widdle pussy cat picture.

Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Feel like critiquing some art?

'FUN' VIRUS???

That brings back memories for me...

I remember when 'I' was a kid, we used to be so poor viruses were our only toys.

'Swappin' Snot' for example, was a quite popular game.

Sure, 'Loogies for Linda' was a little messy, but it was all done in the spirit of fun, so no one ended up permanently brain damaged.

...well...ALMOST no one.
