Help me find a man bag that won't inspire ridicule...

Is there such a thing? I want a messenger bag style to carry: Kindle 3 with case, DS Lite, Droid, headphones, flash drive and anything else I might need. I would carry this to and from work each day (I work in an office environment).

While I don't believe you can have one without the other, I carry a man purse from Maxpedition that looks like this:

Room for everything, including a water bottle.

I think what you are looking for is called a European carry-all.

What you're asking for is impossible. You might as well go for a full-on women's purse. They're typically better designed, roomier, and more functional. You're gonna get mocked either way, might as well go all out.

Might as well go with the 3-Day Assault Pack or the Advanced Tactical Briefcase from Blackhawk. Your masculinity will remain intact.

Or maybe quit bringing so many toys to work.

Edit - and nice big pussy on that black purse above.

Re: Help me find a man bag that won't inspire ridicule...

I used a standard Timbuk2 messenger bag since high school (probably ten years now). I recently bought a couple Porta Brace bags that I use now (one for DSLR/laptop, one for everything else). I'd probably recommend Timbuk2 for you, unless you're packing A/V stuff (I'm not sure if they make regular backpacks). Both brands are top-notch, made in the USA.

If the messenger bag is too heavy, it's definately not comfortable. I always had to play it cool on how much stuff I'd pack in there.

If you're on a budget, go to the mall and get a backpack. If you go this way, don't attempt to make a fashion statement. Standard black backpacks are/will be timeless.

For your next thread about how to pee sitting down without shame, just pretend to poop for a while after.

Re: Help me find a man bag that won't inspire ridicule...

I have a "Man Bag" (the black one) that I got from Amazon some time ago, replaced the skinny little feminine strap with a big wide manly one. I don't carry it around everywhere I go because it can still be considered a purse by some people, but I keep a lot of stuff in it and put it in my car whenever my wife & I go anywhere. Comes in handy...

Trick question.

There is no bag for a man that does not inspire ridicule. A real man carries everything he needs in a scrotum.

I would definitely avoid anything with a Betty Boop or Hello Kitty logo.
