Martin Short's wife is dead

This is so sad, I must say.

The actor’s wife passed away on Saturday at the couple’s Pacific Palisades home. The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a medical emergency call at Short’s address at 8:30 am Saturday.
They were on scene for approximately 30 minutes but did not transport anyone to a hospital. It is believed Nancy died at the house.

A representative for Short confirmed Nancy’s death to RadarOnline.com.

The cause of death is not yet known.

Short, best known for his role on Saturday Night Live and the Father of the Bride franchise married Nancy Dolman in 1980.

The tragedy strikes as Short, who starred in Damages, has been nominated for an Emmy in the Best Supporting Actor For A Drama category.

She is survived by the couple’s three children, Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24 and Henry, 20

Nancy was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, when doctors discovered a growth in her left groin area. She underwent surgery.

Short and Nancy met in 1972 while acting in a Canadian production of the musical Godspell.

Short achieved stardom on Saturday Night Live.

Re: Martin Short's wife is dead

Martin short was always a good guy in my book... decent actor and didn't cause issues with anyone like it seems most actors/actresses do now a days... Feel sorry for the guy. My heart goes out to him.

38 years together is incredible. Very sad to hear of the family's loss.

The Father of the Bride is considered a franchise?

That article sounds like it was written by Wesly Willis.

I'd say that's significantly more than just slightly off topic.

Re: Martin Short's wife is dead

I've always liked Short, so I feel terrible for his loss. I couldn't imagine losing someone after being with them almost 40 years.

Re: Martin Short's wife is dead

Every time I saw Short on the late night circuit, he was doing his impersonation of an ill Katherine Hepburn. I'm looking forward to his impersonation of an ill Nancy Short.

What do you expect when someone married into a Short family.

Re: Martin Short's wife is dead

I guess you could say, in terms of life span...she came up a little short.

...I'm sorry. I had to get that out of my system.

In all seriousness, this is very sad. I have always liked Martin Short and something like this is always terrible to go through. My condolences go to Martin and his kids.

Yes, that tragic illness that ended Hepburn's life so prematurely at the age of 96.
