Is it illegal for Hispanic women to exercise and eat healthy?

This is going to be a harsh post and if you are easily offended please don't bother reading it.

I have spent a number of months in Spain as well as Argentina/Chile. Comparing the women there to the Hispanic women here in Dallas....well over here they are starting to look like some sort of Jabba The Hut/Human hybrid - as Andrew Dice Clay put it, "You don't know where the tits end and the belly begins".

Around town I see these families and they all are fat. Even the girls who look to be in grade school are fat. I don't think any of them could run 100 yards without passing out.

Seeing a Hispanic woman who is in shape is like finding a 4 leaf clover. Maybe this is more of a Mexican thing than a Hispanic thing. I don't really know what's going on here, this is just what I am observing.

That got me thinking about two things.

1. If you take Central America, South America, and Portugal/Spain there is only 1 country that seems to care or have any success in Women's Athletics: Brazil

Brazil is a weird case. I have never been there but I heard someone say, "You never see a woman in Brazil with big breasts." I can't say if this is true or not. Maybe it is something in the water.

Spain just won the World Cup and I don't even know if they have a women's soccer team. You can say the same thing about Mexico and Argentina.
During the Olympics you never see women from these countries do anything. I don't even know if the women participate.

Is there something in the culture that doesn't allow women to exercise or participate in sports?

2. If you are a Hispanic guy does this trend bother you? Do you have to try and alter what you find attractive to this new reality? Even if you find a girl that's not fat you know she is going to look barrel-shaped after she pushes out that first kid.

3. How come there is never a healthy dish in a Mexican restaurant? A Taco Salad doesn't count.

I'm really interested to hear what Hispanic guys have to say about this.

i know in a certain region of mexico the women tend to have "chicken bodies", little legs and fat torso, sadly they dont even get big tits to make it a lil better. but really i dont know what you are talking about. i live in chicago surrounded by latinas and i see smokin hot ones daily. also my girlfriend is puerto rican and she isnt fat.

That's funny, I think the same thing about white people. Racist prick.

Thanks for the warning, I had no idea given the subject header.

Luckily, I live in the United States, where obesity isn't a problem at all. USA! USA! USA!

Awww.....did someone have their little feelings hurt? Are your man-boobs sore?

I'm trying to have a real discussion. You are from the Dallas area. Tell me I'm wrong. Walk around any mall in DFW and tell me this isn't the case. It's freaking sad.

I know that everyone is getting fatter. But the Hispanic community here.....the word epidemic isn't strong enough.

Why do women from Spain, Argentina, and Chile look like a completely different species?

Maybe as a result of seeing a few other recent threads that come close to or, in fact, cross the "DVDTalk.com forum acceptability line" - as pretty much set out in the rules and clarified from time to time by moderators - you thought that a post with the title and content of yours would be OK.

I have to say that you were wrong.

Now, this may come across as a harsh decision and if you are offended by that please don't bother with any self-justification:
your posting priviliges are suspended herewith until the end of August at the earliest.

Edit: whether or not you intended it to be, your initial post posited a stereotype (obesity) based on racial lines (being of Hispanic descent). Given that you have already recently been referred to the forum rules, and taking into account the tone of your posts, I will have to assume that you think such considerations are beneath you.

When the other moderators have had a chance to discuss this, you'll be emailed as to whether we're prepared to take you back and when. In the event that you do return, I'll be expecting an unqualified acknowledgement that future posts by you will be made in full knowledge of and adherence to the rules, including those against racial/ethnic slurs.

Anyone else so minded...
It should be remembered that the rules include "Individual posts may be removed if deemed to be too tasteless or offensive" & "No threads of an explicit sexual nature".

Taken together, the following thread titles are really taking things here beyond the point where we think a sizeable proportion of DVDTalk.com forum members would be happy to have people reading over their shoulder. Similarly, we think that to have so many "edgy" threads on the front page could simply give potential and newer members the wrong impression i.e. maybe that this is a somewhat sleazy place to hang out.

  • Eva Mendes Sex Tape
  • Penis or Vagina?
We'd prefer folk generally to go less for the shock value when titling their posts and consider whether they are taking undue advantage of the leeway that is granted in Other.

If you have any comments to make regarding some or all of the above, and aren't suspended, you are free to post in Feedback. Because I've put my name to this note and to the thread closure, I anticipate that I'll be leaving it to other mods/admins to respond.
