I'm sure he'll get a few hundred million in severance, while we're out here spending $35 on 42 milliters of ink.

actually, i just buy new printers whenever the toner runs out. cheaper to pay $30 for a new printer than to buy new color and black cartridges.

Re: HP CEO quits.

I own HP stock and buy Brother printers which use generic carts for about a buck each.

Everybody else feel free to continue buying branded HP ink!

Re: HP CEO quits.

Sounds like he was faking expense reports as well. That is unbelievable with the kind of money he was making. And Gloria Allred is on the case.

The Hewlett-Packard Co. contractor accusing former Chief Executive Officer Mark Hurd of sexual harassment didn’t have an affair or a sexual relationship with him, said Gloria Allred, the woman’s attorney.

Re: HP CEO quits.

Make no mistake about it, he was fired. The only difference is the average HP employee would have just been shown the door while he is getting 12 million in cash, 350k shares worth 16 million and extended options to buy 775K more shares. Donít know the exercise price but certainly the shares are worth millions more.

That in a nutshell is what is wrong with American business.

Itís about time that corporations get over handing out these ridiculous personal service contracts and hold executives to the same standards the average worker in the company is expected to uphold. If you violate company policy you should be in breach of contract and be guaranteed nothing.

The problem is most of the people approving these contracts want to be CEO themselves one day, and if they build in those kind of breach of contract limitations, then those same limitations will be in their contracts when they end up CEO's and then they'd have to be, you know, responsible and stuff.

Re: HP CEO quits.

He was in negotiantions for a new 100 million dollar contract.

Keep an eye on what they pay the next CEO. I would bet even after this pay off package the total combined with the next CEO's base pay will be less than they were looking at paying Hurd.

The stock price of HP doubled under his 5 year term.
