Just pop open one of those huge lantern batteries, I hear they're full of AAs!

Funny I saw this thread because I changed the batteries in my son's "leaf blower" today and mentioned to my wife that these batteries corrode faster than any other battery I've ever used. They couldn't have been in there over a month. We just got the thing and I put the kingwolf batteries in when I got home.

Re: Post your off-brand batteries!

got these at harbor freight like 4 bucks for 24 of them. Figured they'd be good for things like emergency lanterns and remote controls.

sorry for the giant size of the image.

Hold out for v2 of them, the Duragizer. I hear it's even better!

Re: Post your off-brand batteries!

I would ask if anyone is concerned about using off-brand batteries out of a fear of leakage or corrosion, but the only batteries that ever leak on me are Duracells.

I admit I was not convinced when I saw the title of this thread but the first post made me laugh.

During one of my yearly summer trips to Mexico, I had a practically brand new Atari Lynx and a bunch of Duracell batteries to keep me busy with the long drive from LA to Mexico City.

As we drove away from the house and close to making the first turn, I turned on the Lynx and the Duracells decided to leak at that moment.

No video games for me on that trip.

Sent in the device after I returned and Duracell replaced the Lynx for me.

Re: Post your off-brand batteries!

When hard up for cash I always turn to Rayovac. Good quality battery even though they don't last nearly as long and Duracell or Energizer.

I too prefer to use off brand batteries in things such as Emergency Lanterns. I mean, who really wants a lantern to turn on when you need it, anyway?

Of course, we should only use the best batteries in things that really mean something, like toys and vibrators.
