The Did You Know Thread.

so the idea for this thread is for each to post a FACT that can be wildly imaginative, but true or something completely simple that many people may not know, but is hopefully very interesting.

Now, it can be knowledge you either already have or something you wanted to know and looked it up to post here so others can see and may think "wow, I never knew that and is pretty cool".

posts can also be comments on other did you know facts, but try and post something as well.

Just random facts about life that might be interesting for all of us to know...

Did you know people spend anywhere from 1.5 to 3 years in the bathroom during their lifetimes.

Did you know that this is scott1598's first thread in 4 1/2 years in which the thread title has a period at the end instead of a question mark.

Ok, seriously...this was new to me when I heard it 2 years ago so it may blow someone away, but did you know that the Fed Ex logo includes an arrow in it. Once you see it, you'll never miss it again. And you'll feel compelled to share the info with someone, thereby reinforcing the marketing genius of it's creation.

The Matterhorn has a basketball court inside of it.

Other did you know facts...

Asahi Beer company purifies the water they use in Thailand multiple times until it is the same quality as the Japanese water.

There is an image of the American flag in a stained glass window of Westminster Abbey in London.

Did you know that there's a search function for threads where you can find similar (if not identical) types of threads....?

Re: The Did You Know Thread.

"Gadsby: Champion of Youth" is a 50,000+ word novel, written by Ernest Vincent Wright, published in 1939. Of those 50,000 words, none of them have the letter "E". All of the words are spelled properly, the story makes sense, uses correct grammar, and flows smoothly. The only time the letter "E" is used in the novel is in the introduction and a note at the end.

(I just looked up random stuff online and this one really stuck out as amazing to me)

You can easily remove blood, feces and other inconvenient matter from linoleum floors with a mixture of ammonia and windex.

(yes, it is safe to mix them.)

Re: The Did You Know Thread.

If you snap apart the bones of an albino child and squeeze very hard, the bone marrow tastes delicious on pancakes and bacon.

Re: The Did You Know Thread.

The saying "Mind your Ps & Qs" comes from the old days of Public Houses (Pubs). Bosses would tell the lazy, yapping beer maids to mind their Pints and Quarts (the mug sizes beer was served in). The maids needed to keep track of the Ps & Qs for the patron's tab.

The Chevy Nova didn't sell well in Latin American countries because the word "nova" means "exploding star" in Spanish.
