I found this to be very true. Granted, there's a lot of people on my friend list from school that I've maybe said a few words to after adding them, and not really much since, but there's more I've talked to now on a fairly regular basis. We've touched base after a long time, found that we either have new things in common or just reminisce about the past, or even just shoot the shit about what's going on in our lives now. It's nice.

I've also found this to be true about a few people that are no longer on my list, and to be honest, I'm up in the air right now about whether I should delete a couple more.

EDIT: By the way, I'm thankful to say I'm not any of those 18 types of people.

I like facebook and have spoken to old friends who I haven't in 25 years for some.

For those that don't like facebook, and the reasons they state, I don't see what the big deal is.

The settings allow you to have as much privacy and limit who you see and who can see what you post, as you need.

I can let my friends and family see what I'm up to, and me them.

Facebook is like much of anything else in life. It DOES have good qualities if you take advantage of them. Of course there is muck. The internet itself rocks, but there's muck. I LOVE Dvdtalk, but you woudn't catch me on the "Book talk" forums.

I think people who think it's cool to hate FB (or anything really) are sadder than the thing they're hating on.
