Thread title speaks for itself (was gonna write "title is self-explanitory" but realized didn't know how to write explanitory). But I digress.

How much food have you ever eaten in one sitting?

In my younger days at the buffet I could eat 7 plates worth of food. My parents were always shocked at that. Now max would be 2 plates and i'm done. Last night I ate one and a half large pizza. I'm ashamed of myself.

Double Ultimate Cheeseburger at Jack in the Box, with bacon (limited time special). Not good. I think it weighed in around 2000 calories.

Not sure if that's more food than a large pizza, which I have also eaten, but it sure felt like it.

My friends and I did a Big Mac Challenge back in high school. I think it was 3 or 4 Big Macs in one sitting. I felt like I was going to die for the better part of 2 days. I didn't eat McD's for a long long time after that.

I tried to complete the Gorilla challenge at Wheat State Pizza in Lawrence, KS last night. 24" pizza, dough 3lbs with 4 lbs of cheese. I managed to get down 10 of the 16 slices before I had to give up. I will never eat pizza again.

You ever been to one of those restaurants that has the enormous slab of prime rib. The one that says, "Eat this and you get the second one free" or, "the bills on us"? I once went into such a restaurant and asked, "What happens if I finish off the second one?" and was told that no one has ever finished off two.

I kept my membership card to the Clean Plate Club. Twice.

Re: What's the most food you've ever eaten...in one sitting

Back in the day I could go to a buffet(Golden Corral, Cici's, wherever) and easily chow down on 10+ loaded plates. Back in 98-99 when McDonalds would have 29 cent hamburgers, we would go there after school and see who could eat the most. No telling how many of those suckers I ate...
Up until a few years ago, it was common for me to go to Longhorn's, get the big chicken tender plate(13 strips) and a double order of fries, follow it up with one of their ginormous slices of chocolate cake, then eat again once I got home. I didn't even have to be hungry, I ate just because I freakin loved food.
I've been to plenty of restaurants that have the super-mega-five-pound-hamburger challenges and such. No way I could do it now, but five years ago, no question that I would, and probably could, have done it. The only reason I would halt on eating at buffets is because I was ready to blow out the toilet and had to leave...
I'm very lucky to be in shape now with no health problems, and I spread the word about living a healthy lifestyle.

Re: What's the most food you've ever eaten...in one sitting

I don't know. I can put down a lot in one sitting.

I think the places where I usually eat a lot are at my favorite Mongolian BBQ and Indian places. Mongolian is usually the all you can eat Vegetarian meal so I usually make 2 trips and my plates are alway filled up. I don't put noodles since they take up space so it's all veges. And at my Indian place I eat an appetizer, 2 metal bowls of whatever I order and LOTS of Naan.

Now, surplus food gets taken home for late night meals/snacks instead being scarfed down at the eatery. Of course there's -never- anything left when I eat Indian and Mongolian BBQ.....

I have absolutely nothing to compare with you guys. I've never really been much of a big eater, and usually take half of my meals home to eat the next day. The best I've done is probably most of a large pizza at Pizza Hut when I was in high school.

24 tacos

couple times I've eaten an entire 1/2 gallon of ice cream. Just stood at the kitchen counter eating it right out of the carton.

I totally could do that and I have. Especially Thin Crust. But I could do it with a regular or pan crust too.

Ah, the dreaded reversal of fortune.

When I was in the service, myself and 2 others ate 500 chicken mcnuggets.

Back in the day when I would go to McD's, I ordered this about every week. It was more emotional consumption than food I really needed. But anyway...

3 Double cheeseburgers
1 Fillet fish
1 Chicken sandwich
1 Large fry
1 Large Orange drink

All you can eat shrimp. I think I ate around 67 or so. They were the big ones, not the popcorn shrimp. Felt like I was going to puke it all back up so I had to stop. Ah, the memories.

I ate a 72 ounce porterhouse at a restaurant because it was free if you did it. I succeeded, but I threw up 2 hours later.

Re: What's the most food you've ever eaten...in one sitting

I go to the Mongolian grill places too. Delicious. I have also eaten a large pizza before.

There was also a brief time a year or so ago when McDonald's was doing daily specials. One of them was Filet-O-Fish, a sandwich I really think should be on the dollar menu. On the special day, it was a dollar, so I would get five (no fries) and eat them, although I might have spaced them out a little too much (at least a couple hours) to consider it truly one sitting.
