DVD TALK Best. Thread. Ever. Smackdown - The Nominations

So

Getting Rejected from the PD has started me thinking, whats the best thread in the History of DVD Talk

We will gather nominations for the next week and then start the smackdown in a separate thread

Using an old poll here (thanks to Duh Vuh Duh) are the auto nominations

1http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...lice-dept.html Delta Cannot Figure out why his near abduction of an innocent civilian obstructs a carear in Law enforcement - Hilarity ensues (and he fucking loses it)
2TopBunk The TSA pays mad billz - enough to trick out your bunk bed - I cannot breath reading this
3Brian Peppers, Zombie Obvious the genius from post #1
4Girl Skank Photocop Frenzy
5Disastrous Date Experiences Self Explanitory
6Danol. Blockbuster dumpster diving thead A gone but not forgotten DVDTalk Legend
7Daddy Cool
8Crayon ebay thread This builds slow but the suprise twist indicating where the crayons have been lead to insanity
9Farting stripper
10Cameron Spencer Osbourne, don't know if this is the right one?
11So, I got pulled over last night (7 tickets)
12OMG Kelly Saga
13Crazy Deaf Girl
14Fapping at work
15Meta other forum argument From before my time - A 'high concept' old school otter thread reads like an acid trip
16Girlfriend dumped me on New Years Eve
17Penis Chair drawing Not what the OP intended when she posts her sons drawings
18Playing straight

What recent threads should be added to the competition?

EDIT

RECENT NOMS

19http://forum.dvdtalk.com/video-game-...ease-date.html Popcorn wants affirmation of his life decisions, gets the opposite, runs and hides, but the thread tracks him down
20http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...nd-yes-no.html Before there was popcorn, there was SLAYER ("He's not rough and tumble. I am. I box. I've sparred with an undefeated professional bigger than me and had litle problem with him my first time to the gym. I'm not just a lover; I'm also a fighter and now I'm fighting for love.") INCLUDES PART II III and IV
21http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...ttoo-done.html Absolutely Terrible Tatoo and the Otters let him have it
22http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...eak-house.html a BLACK girl goes to dinner with her BLACK mother and tears up a restaraunt full of non-BLACK people - BONUS - Trashy and Casual are syninoms
23http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...y-weekday.html The most head-scratching First Post I have ever read
24http://forum.dvdtalk.com/store-forum...icee-ymmv.html Some love for the store forum
25http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...local-out.html Diabetics, DIE!!
26http://forum.dvdtalk.com/tv-talk/450...l-airport.html A Nagging question about the Fresh Prince turns to a discussion on the underground FPoBA community
27http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...e-friends.html Wergo is committed to being depressed forever and no one can convince him otherwise
28http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...ax-museum.html What if Satan tripped on mushrooms and decided instead of stealing souls he wanted to make wax likenesses of celebrities?
29http://forum.dvdtalk.com/key-thread-...e-tonight.html Notable because the OP actually remained as a poster on this board
30http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...e-dispute.html Jedi or Wolverine?
31http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...andfather.htmlThe thread reads like a criminal investigation, mistaken identity, some statements can only be read through third party information, you cant keep the characters straight, your not sure if its real or not, and then just ends
32http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...-physical.html Immature facebook breakup
33http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...week-ymmv.html Where our hero stelas from Walmart and cant figure out how that's wrong
34Would You Go Through With This Craigslist Deal? - spin off of the money marker/Kindle thing.
35Do you work out at the gym or at home? - GatorDeb reveals that she cannot wear jackets or sweaters because she has an electric shock condition.
36If you owed a burrito shop, what would you choose? - GatorDeb walks into a burrito shop and is a pain in the ass with coupons while trying to buy 4 burritos for herself, posted right after all of her weight loss threads. Comedy ensues.
37Starting tomorrow I'm drinking 94oz of water per day - GatorDeb either has trouble with math or with weight, and reveals that she weighs only 188 ounces.
38What would you do in this situation? - GatorDeb's friend buys a broken portable DVD player for $300, and Deb decides she's going to buy it from him because she feels guilty...or she gives him a DS? (wut?)
39http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...-subforum.html INCLUDES PART II and III
40 http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...d-de-sacs.html

And a 'Mentionable Thread' that I dont think is right putting into a smackdown
9/11 World Trade Center

Well, obviously the "My Girlfriend Won't Leave Her Abusive Husband/Rock Band: Smells Like Teen Spirit Release Date" thread should be on that list.

Definitely one of the best titles:

My girlfriend won't leave her abusive husband/Rock Band: Smells Like Teen Spirit release date

That alone is enough to bring a smile to your face.

Re: DVD TALK Best. Thread. Ever. Smackdown - The Nominations

How about:

The undisciplined girl who went from table to table in a restaurant sampling other people's food while her parents did nothing to stop it.
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...eak-house.html

The bad neighbor thread about the people that put up a doughboy pool in their driveway.
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...oreclosed.html

Edit: Found 1 of them.
2nd Edit: Found the other one, but it's not as funny as I remembered it.

Re: DVD TALK Best. Thread. Ever. Smackdown - The Nominations

Smackdown as in who was insulted the most? I'd say Slayer 2005 for longevity, Popcorn for unanimous agreement, and LXCivic and DSC4 for sheer bewildering lunacy.

The "Disastrous Date" thread is great because it just has a lot of really funny stories.

Re: DVD TALK Best. Thread. Ever. Smackdown - The Nominations

No Smackdown as in the poll works as two threads go head to head and the poll winner moves on to the next round in a single elimination tournament

This will help you with the Slayer threads, I don't have time right now to compile them, but there are some gems. No credit for the original poll?

No worries, I was kidding anyway and I was just pleasently surprised you asked me if it was cool.

As mentioned above, Gatordeb threads are great, I would like to nominate the craigslist counterfit pen at the bank one specifically.

Wergo needs a date
Keep Slayer away from your woman
And the thread where some guy went to a concert, and everyone photoshopped his face into everything.

agreed 100%. the Popcorn thread should have ben a poll. it must have been the first to get that close to a complete agreement. and when feeling down, read a Slayer and Honey Clam tale.

That's a lot of threads to go through (I will eventually, but still). Any way a one-sentence description could be added? Maybe even a time frame (2002, 2009, etc.)?

I'll also nominate the 'Forums Oldest Virgin' thread, although I'm not sure where it can be located. There was some good stuff in there.

The now deleted Buffy follow along thread.

There was a video game thread that was hilarious. There was a discussion going and someone would make a good point and in reply, this poster would look up their Halo score and dismiss their post based solely on the fact that their score didnt measure up to his. I cant find a link, though.

if you only do one, let it be the slayer one, even the top bunk is great but the slayer one is like an accident that won't stop, like a snow ball rolling down a hill.

I am facsinated by threads where news unfold, like the 9/11 thread and the VT shooting thread. Very interesting snap shot of history.
