Kenny Rogers. "The Gambler." RIP

https://variety.com/2020/music/obitu...es-1203541233/

"I just checked in to see what condition my condition was in." Cool song, especially when it was used in The Big Lebowski. (Although the song wasn't written by Kenny Rogers, but recorded by his first group.)

[QUOTE=Franchot;13708861]Kenny Rogers. "The Gambler." RIP

"I just checked in to see what connection my connection was in." Cool song, especially when it was used in The Big Lebowski. (Although the song wasn't written by Kenny Rogers, but recorded by his first group.)

Yes! Great song written by Micky Newbury with Glen Campbell's fabulous backward guitar intro - just a nit though, it's 'what CONDITION my CONDITION was in', which makes all the difference.

Re: Zod's feelgood obituary thread

I'm sorry Kenny's gone, but if the gambler was so smart, how'd he end up dying on a train with no cigarettes, no lighter, no booze, and no money?

Yes! You are SO right! I knew that...

My mistake for adding to this thread while I was half-asleep. Thanks for the correction. I updated my original post.

Terrence McNally

Incredibly talented and prolific playwright. I've enjoyed viewing many of his plays. A victim of Covid-19, however, he did have COPD and survived a battle with lung cancer.

Re: Zod's feelgood obituary thread

I listen to music while on my long bike rides. I have my phone set to play songs randomly. Ironically, it played two Bill Withers songs this morning.

Tigers hold the MLB battery record(same starting pitcher and catcher) and that would be Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan(don't recall the number but it's somewhere around 250 times).
