Beth Chapman, wife of Duane "Dog" Chapman. They were the stars of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" tv show. She was 51 and had cancer. I think it was yesterday she was placed in a medically-induced coma.

As a mandolin player and jam band fan this one hits hard. I actually even received a custom order mandolin that’s been in progress over 2 years on the same day the news came out.

He lived on a street where I walk several times a week. Whenever he was out on his porch he would always say good morning as I passed by. The last time I saw him, he looked pretty bad from cancer.

Awww shit, I am going to miss this guy:

Rip Torn: Dodgeball and Men In Black star dies aged 88

Rip Torn, who starred in the likes of Dodgeball and Men In Black, has died aged 88.

The award-winning television, film and theatre actor died at his home on Tuesday afternoon, with his wife and two daughters by his side.

He played Chief Zed, the head of the Men In Black, in the sci-fi film starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.

Torn also gained fans in his role as quirky coach Patches O'Houlihan in Dodgeball alongside Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller, not least for the catchphrase: "Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge."

His film debut came in 1957 as a former prisoner of war who breaks down at a court-martial in Time Limit.

Torn's career on stage and screen spanned seven decades - and the free-spirited Texan won an Emmy late in his career for his role in The Larry Sanders Show.

In 1983, he was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor following his role as Marsh Turner in Cross Creek.

Re: Zod's feelgood obituary thread

Perhaps just a tiny bit premature but..

Denise Nickerson, the actress who starred as “Violet” in the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” has reportedly been taken off of life support and her family have stopped her hospital treatment.

Here's a quick Willy Wonka related story I can share..

I was helping David Wolper (Producer) move some stuff and while we were packing some things up in his office he had a Willy Wonka poster on the wall. I told his secretary "That's such a great movie" and she said "That's what I've heard. I've never gotten around to seeing it." WHAT?!? True story. And no.. she wasn't kidding. One of my rare speechless moments.

She died a few hours later.

We watched Willy Wonka last month, for the first time in decades. She was my favorite actor in the movie, a completely over-the-top villain.

Nobel prize winning author, too.

She was an amazing writer. I don't say this about many, but the world is a better place for her having lived in it. RIP.

Rose Ruiz. She ran the Boston Marathon in 1980 and finished in record time for a female. People quickly discovered she had cheated. It was a big scandal back in 1980. I remember it since we lived in a Boston suburb at the time.

Edit: She died a month ago on July 8th

Re: Zod's feelgood obituary thread

while I'm glad the POS tapped out and wont be a guest at great cost to the state I wonder how many secrets he took the the grave and what they can prosecute on based on what they collected on the subhume? I hate when people dehumanize others but this is an exception I am willing to make. Rot in hell....

So she died 8/9/19 but took the short cut on 7/8/19?

I remember this. I also remember she lied about being injured at the finish line of the marathon before so she would quality to be in the Boston Marathon. Basically everyone believed ever lie she told until it started to become obvious things couldn't have gone the way they did. She was a liar, cheater, and embezzler her whole life.
