Windows? Pella, Anderson, Marvin????

I need to get new windows, and I need to have wood on the inside, so I'm looking at the wood windows with aluminum cladding on the outside. Seems the main sellers of these are Pella, Anderson and Marvin.

Anyone have any of these windows and have comments pos/neg?

I have Marvin Integrity and I like them.. I think they are slightly cheaper then the regular Marvin Windows.. I think all the brands you mention are pretty good in terms of quality..

I had my windows custom-built locally and am very happy with them. I would like to think that you may find better price and/or quality locally, so give that a shot as well.

I've got Harvey widows in my house and they're pretty good. Durable, easy to clean, seem pretty well insulated.

Re: Windows? Pella, Anderson, Marvin????

I have been trying to get the last 2 windows installed on my house and these window companies want $600.00 a window just for installation... I can't see paying $1200.00 for 2 windows and about 4-6 hours of work. Even after I supply all the material.. Who makes $200.00 an hour? That is truely highway robbery...

I plan on getting a quote from this mailer ad I recieved called Handyman Connection. We will see how much they want..

You Iowa bastards. But that's what I have, very nice IMO. Haven't been here long enough to know how they hold up.

The flashing system sucks, their extension jambs are never square, we've had the pins break on several tilt sash windows. The current summer house we're building (a 10,000 sq ft summer house) is all Marvin and the general consensus amongst the crew is that they both suck and blow.
