Dammit, the rain was bad enough!
Without a fire at the studio. I went to make sure the roof wasn't leaking, and this was blocking the drive.

Fortunately, it isn't the studios that are on fire, but the empty motel next door.

And, since the buildings are adjacent, they had to check the studios for spreading fire. My door's all busted in. For security reasons, the whole building is taped off.

I got to slip in an check on things, nothing in my studio seems to be damaged.
The hotel is gutted, though. You can see here where the floor collapsed.

I got a few good pictures before the fire chief ran me off.

Think of it this way: If the fire had spread to her studio, everything that she's accomplished professionally in the 25 years since she graduated from college would have been lost. For most small businesses, fire insurance payments will let the owner replace the stock that got burned. But since her stock is original art, it's irreplacable.
