New Doritos! "Late Night" Line of Flavors

Found these at a truck stop on the way to LA a few weeks ago.

Both are very tasty. The Last Call Jalapeno Popper was my favorite of the two. The taco one tasted more like the 80s taco flavor than that new one that's out.

Here I thought Conan and other late night hosts were following Leno's lead into marketing Doritos and getting their likenesses on the bags.

Are these just repackagings of the Taco and Jalapeno Cheese flavors?

Still not as cool as some of the flavors they get in Japan.

The Jalapeno popper is tasty. They did a good job capturing the flavor of the cream cheese in the jalapeno.

Bleh, couldn't stand the taco one. Tasted like they simply dumped taco seasoning (and a lot of it) all over the chips.

First taste I didn't like them, but after a couple of them, they got better.

I still wouldn't buy them again.

Carson Daly is on the "plain" flavor.

I've had the Jalapeno Popper one, and it does taste a lot like cream cheese poppers. Unfortunately, I prefer cheddar cheese on my poppers, so it's taken me a while to get through the bag.

Salsa Verde is still my favorite.

Tried the Taco ones, because the old Taco flavor was my fav.

Good but not great.

Also tried the Enchilada Doritos, good but too much lemon.

Re: New Doritos! "Late Night" Line of Flavors

I decided to go shopping around 4:00 this morning.

I was just looking at these and weighing options.

I decided they would suck and passed.

I could be in artificial jalapeno-flavored powder/monosodium glutamate heaven right now.

The jalapeno popper ones are good. I have a bag of the Taco, but haven't tried it yet.

I've tried the Jalepeno ones and thought they were good. Not as good as the old Jalepeno Cheddar ones, though.

The Tacos at Midnight flavor does taste much more like the original taco flavor doritos. I like it better than the current taco flavor.

You guys are forcing me to go out and buy a bag and eat the whole thing in one night and gain lots of pounds!

Re: New Doritos! "Late Night" Line of Flavors

I bought a bag of each, my 16 yr old ate the Taco ones before I had a chance to sample. Same trip, I bought a 4 pack of Pepsi Natural which he hasn't touched because the packaging doesn't look familiar.

These should prove irresistible for people who go to the convenience store in the middle of the night for smokes and mountain dew...

So, what makes a flavor "late night"?
