Ever been so busy you can't send email?

So, I've been talking to this chick online and I hadn;'t heard her from a day or two... When she finally replied, she said something about being really busy and hadn't had time to email. I really don't think she was blowing me off (don't care that much either way).,, Question is have you ever really been so busy that you can't send someone an email? I know I've used that as an excuse, but between my phone and computer, I can usually reply within 5 mins if I want to.

Do non-techie people only log on once a day to check their mail and sometimes just get to busy to do so?

"I've been busy" is an age-old excuse for "You're not that important to me and/or I'm trying to ignore you in the hope that you'll go away". Take the hint.

I get that it is a blow off line.. I've used it before and have had used on me. I was curious if it is ever a legit excuse.

I don't think it is. That's like people who don't respond to a text message. It takes literally 15 seconds, so fuck them.

I constantly ignore e-mails because I'm too busy. I usually end up reading them, but I just don't have time to waste writing followups/replies unless someone really needs my input.

Re: Ever been so busy you can't send email?

I know people that only check email at work... and I've known people who are very busy and don't have time to send out an email that they think may be rushed. I've done it myself... held off on an email because I wanted to take my time with it, then forgotten about it later. I wouldn't say that would be the case in a romantic situation though. In that situation I would be making the time to reply to emails.

Yes.

People(dumb asses?) do this, in fact the system is sometimes powered down. So to check email involves booting up.

Re: Ever been so busy you can't send email?

Sometimes. Other times I'm just feeling too lazy to write a response. I'm personally sick of the rapid pace of communication these days, and all the different ways we keep in touch with one another.

Unless something is very urgent, I don't see it as imperative that I return a call or an email the same day it is received - or even respond at all.

I like space, not the feeling that I'm constantly connected to my friends and family or that I should be ready and willing at any moment to communicate with them.

Of course, for work stuff I don't have the ability to behave so leisurely.

Quite often, I read an email and plan on replying when I have more time. I'll then forget about it until weeks later, and then I'll reply. My girlfriend only checked her email once every other week, so she could go even longer.

One could always send a short e-mail quickly. But, let's say I want to send something with some substance, well thought-out and grammatically correct....well, that takes some time.

I have 2 dvdtalk messages I have never looked at. Its been well over a year since they were sent. I thought they were confirmation messages saying I was going to be banned so I never looked at them.
