Most sincere movie critic ever.

Man shoots himself during "Watchmen" movie

http://www.kmtr.com/news/local/story...hh80WuOSA.cspx

Eugene (KMTR) – A man shot himself to death in a Eugene movie theater just after midnight Monday morning.

Police say about 10 patrons were in an auditorium at Regal Cinemas watching the movie “Watchmen.” About midway through the film some of the moviegoers told the manager they heard a “popping” noise like a gunshot. A 24-year-old man was found in the rear of the auditorium with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say the man shot himself and was dead when they arrived.

The patron closest to the man was sitting two rows away.

In addition to being sad, it creeps me out. I usually go to the other theater in town, though.

I can imagine someone being very distraught being pushed to the edge by that movie. It's not very happy and definitely not hopeful.

I thought it'd be fast and furious. Didn't know watchmen was still playing in theaters.

ANYTHING at a Regal Cinema would make a person do that.

Creepy, but I respect the fact the guy didn't harm anyone else before offing himself.

Well, except for the psychological harm of all the people in the theater who will never get THAT out of their heads.

Not sure why he couldn't have just done it in his own house.

More bad news for Warner Bros., That's 10 more people who wont buy the DVD due to a bad experience with the movie.

Maybe he told himself that seeing Watchmen would be the very last thing he'll do.

Re: Most sincere movie critic ever.

Here's one of the comments that made me

Fourth months into Obama's administration and there are no more people who have died in mass murder-suicides than any other President within an 8 year period. You'll be seeing a lot more stories like this

True, but often the type of person that publically kills himself also takes a few other people down before he does it. I'm just saying at least he didn't do that.

Yeah, it was pretty creepy. I've only been to that theater once... Not sure how I would cope if something like that happened.

Re: Most sincere movie critic ever.

At least he didn't talk on his cell phone. That would have been rude.

I can sympathize. I usually can't even get through the commercials before the movie without at least been tempted to slash my wrists...

Re: Most sincere movie critic ever.

Was it the best movie he had ever seen, and he knew he'd never do better? Or, was it the worst movie he had ever seen, and just couldn't go on?

Yeah it is, it's fairly new (open a couple years I think?)

I go to Cinemark mainly because it's closer for me.

It's really not that big of a deal. Once they replace the seat or seats it'll be back to normal.

The entire complex?

BTW, not sure, but I think they're back to showing the movie again. I noticed yesterday that that showing was no longer there but there was a link for showings the next day.
