Anyone move from their home state and never regret it?

I moved to Texas from California almost 3 three years ago now, and haven't looked back. I lived in the SF Bay Area practically all my life too.

I moved out here to help care for my terminally ill mom, and after she passed on, I decided to stay on.

I was able to buy my first house because of the cheap prices and lower cost of living.

While there are things about California I'll always miss and can visit from time to time, I can't see myself moving back there anytime soon.

Anyone else like me?

I came to Albuquerque in 1988 to visit a friend. I'm still here.

Just about the only thing I miss about New Hampshire is the ocean. I like the ocean.

Yes but I was likely too young to "regret it".

From SoCal to Northern Colorado in 1991 and would never think of moving back.

Never going back to Texas. Hate the place. Particularly the Eastern part of it.

I moved from northern Nevada to Nebraska for college. I have never once regretted staying here.

Moved from New Jersey in 1996, where I lived about 20 non-continuous years. Things have been much better for me since then, so I don't miss or get nostalgic for it even when I make periodic visits there.

Considering the economic situation, it's very difficult to regret leaving Michigan (and Metro Detroit in particular) at this point.

I left North Carolina for upstate New York when I was 25... at first I missed NC very much but eventually I preferred living in the north vs the south. Now when I go back to where I came from, I feel strange like I don't fit in.

I grew up in NJ, and while my entire family is up there....I don't think I'm ever going back. Too expensive, too busy, and the people are a bit pushy. I don't think I'll ever get above the Mason-Dixon line.

Left Philly in 96 and with the exception of seeing my folks, I try to go back as little as possible.

Re: Anyone move from their home state and never regret it?

I've never lived anyplace but the Kansas City metro area. Until I was 32 I lived on the Missouri side, both suburban and in the city. I moved onto the Kansas side in 1997 and haven't regretted it, although up until last year I had to file taxes in both states because I worked in Missouri.

Re: Anyone move from their home state and never regret it?

I still don't regret leaving the Chicago area when I was younger but I had to come back for family reasons and here I remain for now. When I leave again, it will be with even less regret if that's possible.

I moved from NY to NJ about 8 years ago. Although I don't think the 20 mile move really qualifies for this thread.

I've never regretted leaving KY for the Chicago suburbs, only regretting not doing it sooner.

I was born and raised in Western New York. Don't miss it in the least.

That's not to say it's paradise here, but I still enjoy the West Coast (especially the weather) 10x that of back East. Only thing I truly "miss" is the Fall season.

Ah, so you're one of those Californians that we get stuck behind driving in the snow.
