What are you drinking this Christmas?

Presents unwrapped, turkey in the oven for another three hours or so. Everyone's back to doing their own thing. I got a bottle of Jameson for the holidays my Dad and I are working on. What about you?

Anchor Steam Christmas....each year a little different. Each year damn good.

Also last night had some Rogue Christmas...I'm not a Rogue fan, but it was good. Also got some St. Arnold Christmas. Lighter then the Anchor.....

Your Jameson pops a question into my head; how to make a Irish Car Bomb christmas like???? Hummm

Coca-Cola Zero. Bottled water*.

*I put tap water into plastic bottles and refrigerate. Yes, that's my version of bottled water.

Last night was Deschutes Brewerey Jubelale '08 and some Greyhounds (gin of course, I'm a grown man). Today will be Grinches (hot chocolate & peppermint schnapps with cinnamon stick) and egg nog with brandy, with a few celebratory tipples of the Jameson as well.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale 2008
Bells Hopslam (can't remember the batch)
Anchor Our Special Ale 2007
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot 2005

If I still need anything after all of that then I will crack open something from my cellar, but I doubt it.

Are you serious? I remember that as being the liquor-of-choice for a lot of kids back in high school. That's like going to a wine tasting and asking if people have heard of something called "Boone's Farm". Ugh.

As for me, I'm working my way through this variety pack...

I think the Old Fezziwig Ale might be the greatest thing I've ever tasted.

Old Fezziwig & Holiday Porter are very, very good. Cream Stout is very good. Winter Lager and the regular are passable. Cranberry Lambic is vile, vile stuff.

Great stuff. I had some of this on tap at a bar last year.

As for me, I'm kicking back with a glass or two of Basil Hayden on the rocks. I recently got into Bourbons and I haven't looked back. I think tomorrow I'm going to have to treat myself to a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle.
