Concert seating suggestions..
I am getting ready to order some expensive tickets for a concert (gift for my Father) and I need a little advice. I know it's weird that I come here for suggestions but anytime I need help I can get it here.
I have never really been to a show. There are two sets of seats I can choose from below. Both are the same price. Anybody who has been to a concert, which do you think would be better? I know that Number 2 is floor seats, but they are so far back. Number One seems a little closer I think? If it helps, the show is Motley Crue.

Thanks!
Shane

I'd go #1, just because you are likely to be elevated a little. But I'm old. Is your Dad tall? I imagine people will stand at this show, so if he's not short, #2 would be the place to go.

But I've been to a million concerts in my younger days, and those side/mezzanine seats sometimes offer better sight lines than being further back on the main floor.
Plus those big arenas usually have crappy sound, and it's not like the acoustics are great to begin with, so you're probably not going to be sacrificing that much in the way of clarity.
It's a cool gift, and clearly you're giving it a lot of thought. I'm sure Dad will be happy with either. If my daughter bought me concert tickets to a band I liked, I'd be happy no matter where the seats were.

#1.
Sight lines should be better as the seats, as mentioned, will probably be elevated. I'm 6'7, so if you're dad were seated behind me on the floor, he'd be screwed, especially when we stand with lighters aloft during "Home Sweet Home."

It really depends on the concert I feel. I've been to hundereds of concerts in the last some years and it does greatly depend on who you're going to see. By default i'm going to go with number 2, its easier to look straight forward that crane your neck for the duration of the concert.

For me #1 by a long shot. Couple of rows elevated and closer. Floor seats are, IMHO, only good 10 rows or closer since.
I am assuming this is an arena and not a theater (which would be slightly elevated as it goes further back). This means they would be at the same level most, if not all, of the way back.
