Anyone have an under cabinet radio in their kitchen?

I need some reviews. My biggest issue is probably reception. Anyone?

Must be really really nice being able to afford a fancy schmancy under-cabinet radio. Good grief! We're in a recession and you have the nerve to post something like this when we have members being laid off and getting stiffed a slice of cheese on their dollar menus?

(in other words, I have no recommendations at this time because I don't have one)

I'll bet Bose has one. And it's probably the Bose of under-cabinet radios.

We just have a cheap Emerson one but AM and FM reception is perfectly fine (it can even tune in TV audio signals, but I'd imagine that will change in February). Though to be honest, we rarely use it.

I got one for free from our Realtor when we bought our house. He spared no expense as it's an Audiovox!

I really love having it, the reception is pretty good, not as good as my car, but decent enough to get the AM channels I listen to. (the low-powered college FM station from across town doesn't come in very good) The CD player works fine, though is pretty touchy with scratched discs.

The only thing that sucks is that the clock is wrong, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to change it. I feel like a bad 80's "can't program the VCR" joke.

Hmmmm, it may not be worth doing. We don't have many radio stations around here, and everything I read seems to indicate they aren't really good for reception.

Maybe a cd player?

I just use our MacBook on the kitchen counter so I can listen to music AND browse the web while cooking.

It's for my mother and needs to be simple. otherwise, she will be polite and never use it.

Does it have to go under the cabinet instead of on the counter?

I've never been disapointed with Cambridge Soundworks... check this one out, although I don't know about the mounting options:

I got the higher-end version with cd player/mp3 a couple months ago and it's beautiful.

Of course, if your reception sucks there won't be much helping you. High quality crappy sound is still crap.

I don't think it has to go under the counter. Thanks for the link.
