What's your unpopular opinion?

A good deep-dish pizza with crispy cheese on the edges, in a bustier and garters is the best.

By the way, pure unadulterated vanilla bean and / or French vanilla ice cream is also my favorite flavor. With a high amount of natural butter fat, of course. It's the purest and the most divine, what the very core and essence of ice cream is all about.
So, to all the sundry and myriad ice creamery manufacturers of the world: If you can't get vanilla right, you flunk!

My, "Unpopular," opinion?
Based on the response to them on the Politics subforum I'd have to say.... All of them.

The obsession with competition has turned politics into sports extreme, complete with political figures instead of civil servants and root, root, root for the home team via the worst taunting vitriol imaginable. It's so gross.

Agreed.
If politicians would just shut up and do the frigging jobs they were elected to do, we wouldn't even have to give them a second thought for the most part. That would be wonderful.

Totally agree.
Woman in lingerie: Meh, it's only distracting to me, I just want her to take it off and get nekkid,
Woman in a tight white t-shirt or tank top:
But I guess it's kind of like fetishes, everyone is turned on by different kinds of wardrobe, and lingerie itself is not universally hot IMO.

The 1980s was the worst decade ever for horror films. There was a handful of good horror films released in that decade, but the classics-to-junk ratio was overwhelmingly skewed to the "junk" side for most years, especially in the latter half of the '80s.

IMHO, the decade shouldn't be judged on its classics-to-junk ratio. It should be judged on the classics, alone. If you take it to the extreme and say the decade didn't exist, I think the loss of the classics would be a bigger blow than the loss of classics from many other decades.
i guess my view is who cares about the junk. I'm not going to watch it, but I'd really miss the good stuff, if it was gone.

That will be an unpopular opinion. At least it is, with me.

There are so many absolute classics from that era that it's mind-boggling. Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The Exorcist. Jaws. Alien. The Omen. Halloween. Friday the 13th. Nightmare on Elm Street. The Fog. The Thing. The Hills Have Eyes. The Howling. American Werewolf in London. Hellraiser. Fright Night. Dawn of the Dead. Day of the Dead. Return of the Living Dead. Dead and Buried. Near Dark. Re-Animator. Carrie. The Dead Zone. The Shining. Creepshow. Cujo. Christine. Children of the Corn.
I will concede that by the latter part of the 80s, the horror genre was pretty spent and once popular franchises like Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street had devolved into self-parody and mediocrity. But that run, from about Dawn of the Dead to Hellraiser, was quite a run.

I agree with rbrown498. There were a few Horror highpoints in the '80s, but the cascade of dreck eclipses the good stuff. The '70s was the golden age of the genre.

Every decade has tons of crappy movies. Go look back and see what else was out the same year of Casablanca or Wizard of Oz. The junk always gets swept aside, and the good stuff defines that era.

I can enjoy many of the bad 80s horror movies if I watch them through a nostalgic lens but even then, on their face, they’re pretty awful.
I agree with the previous poster who noted that the first half of the 80s was still producing quality horror and by the latter half the genre had been used up and recycled into pure garbage.
