If you are a man and you were raped by another man, would you report it to the authorities?

Most of my guy friends say they wouldn't (too embarrassed or such) but hell yeah I'd report it. Nobody that rapes someone deserves to get away with it.

While I understand that there are times when people of either gender would be embarassed/traumatized, I personally think that any victim that doesn't report a horrendous crime like that is being extremely self-centered and enabling the perpetrator to victimize the next person that he comes across.

For me I think it would depend on if they did any permanent damage or not.

That seems more than a little harsh. Perhaps the victim would rather not go through the emotional trauma of re-living the event multiple times only to see their rapist get very little jail time, a plea bargin, or not convicted at all.

Raped in the ass, yes.

Raped in the mouth, probably not.

Plus their personal lives are also on trial. Some people don't want to go through that. It shouldn't be the courts business what the person did after they were raped, but look at the Kobe Bryant case to see why a girl might not want to report it.

I'd definitely like to think that I would, but having never been through the trauma, I won't say definitively.

If you're a man and get raped by one, you deserve the embarassment you get from reporting it.
