Frak! I just spent $60 on groceries

WTF! The stuff I normally get would have been around $45, but it was $59 and change today. Few sales. Oh wait. My Gatorade was normally $1.69 and was on sale for $.88. Yeah!

Any other grocery horror stories?

I just spent $60 on dinner. For1. And it wasn't even a top-of-the-scale restaurant. But it was tasty, nonetheless.

Food prices have been on the rise. It's been making news lately. Eggs can go for $4 a dozen, lactose-free milk over $4, loaf of bread $4 in this city.

Even Costco prices have increased. Over $6 for tasty roasted chicken, higher prices on their baked goods.

I'm on a fixed income so if I go more than once a month-I'm lucky.Usuallly spend about 90 bucks.Pork and beans and Banquet dinners can let you live on two bucks a day.Try to get pop on sale.I don't eat the same thing everyday.Go out for a sub here and there but I have cut back alot on spending.I wanted to lose weight anyways and this helps.Have lost 20 lbs in the last 45 days.Been intaking 1000-1250 calories a day.

Combination of grocery shopping and farmers market set me back $110 today. Hopefully that will last me and my girlfriend 2 weeks.

Banquet dinners and pop can be very inexpensive but they're just not healthy. Eliminating that would help you lose weight even faster.

Saw $5.04 for a gallon of milk at Target today (but they probably always charge a little more). We can still get it for around $3.25 at Sam's.

When I was living on my own, I was spending about $30 on groceries for about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Just about everything I would get would be on sale.

I tend to spend anywhere from $50-$100 a week for my son, my wife and myself. Sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less depending on how the sales are.

Two kids and a wife. I don't shop at Whole Foods either, it's mostly mainline supermarkets (maybe a little Trader Joes in there to be honest). Food is damned expensive these days.

Usually costs me about $60-$70 for a weeks worth of food.. but it'll usually last two weeks because well it's not a whole lot and I need variety so I usually stop off at the grocery store midweek and pick up something else. So honestly I spend more than that..

I used to go to the Wal Mart Supercenter and save a few bucks but with gas prices now I'm better off just going to the Safeway up the street from my house. Saves a lot of time.

Just spent $110 but it's enough to last me a couple weeks. Didn't have to buy beer but I did. Probably just need a little more produce stuff next week. Still sucks though.

I just spent $80 at Super Suppers and another $10 at Safeway. We're busy and eating out way too often, so I thought I'd start using one of those "make your own dinner" places. The dinners are about the same price as fast food, but at least they're a little healthier and there's more variety.

The price of oil has such a wide reaching effect on the cost of everything we touch/use.

[the sky is falling] In a nutshell, we're screwed.[no, really the sky is falling/]

Look forward to many years of spending more and getting less in return.

Exactly what I say when I go to the grocery store, drop sixty bucks and look at what fills my bags...it amounts to nothing, really. It's depressing, really.
