Starring Linnea Quigley, BTW.

The ads are the portions under the headlines and the "sponsored links" section within each thread. It my understanding that those are controlled by another group and we don't have much direct control over them. If there is something in there that people feel is inappropriate though please let us know and we'll see what can be done about it. The two things that most people seem to be concerned about recently (within the context of this discussion) are the reviews (there are at the top and to either side of the headlines). Clicking on those just takes you to another part of the website and doesn't make any money (that I'm aware of) for anyone. Now if you follow through on the review page I believe there might be something there that'll generate some cash for people (other than the etailer obviously

When did this sight become so self-absorbed that it can't make fun of itself?
Would a Jules post or a stripper farted in my face post be allowed now? - it's certainly not family friendly - but fuck - that's what this place is - A FAMILY.
Where's the friendly?
Mad props to the admin/mod/reviewer powers that be - I know it's a trying time - but let's not lose focus (see bold) - and if the focus has changed that much, let us know so we can go.....

Yes! A family! Complete with that weird gay Uncle who only comes around at Christmas time (you know who you are), the hot cousin we all wanna boink, the other hot cousin we did boink, the cool aunt that buys you beer, the fun grandpa that gives you his old porn mags, the grandma that pinches your cheeks then gives you a weird menthol candy....we are family and we should remember that.

Although with the feedback we've been getting it's a bit difficult for reviewers to decide what's appropriate when DVDs dealing with gay subject matter and covers like this

are being complained about.

Neither do I.
But it seems some people were just looking for something to complain about.

Yep, just a coincidence. No attempt at making money, no hypocrisy here.
And you wonder why people are so pissed off over the whole thing.

Honestly, there is nobody that can convince me that you actually listen to or give a damn about what anyone in this forum thinks. You've proven time and time again that you could care less. The other mods aren't so bad...but the way you talk down to people with elitist overtones and dismiss legitimate complaints is just sad.

Yeah, that's it. We're all just looking for reasons to bitch.
The bottom line is these are the rules we're going to enforce. At this point IB doesn't seem to want an "R" level forum/content here. So while the "dirty joke" and "who do you consider hot that other people don't" type threads are allowed (as long as the individual posts stay within the guidelines), the BigJim's babe threads and other more explicit material that used to be found in the Adult Form aren't. If that starts to drive people away it's up to IB to decide what they want to do about it.
EDIT: I mean when you post threads like this http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=530935 what else are we supposed to think. Talk about being condescending

A link to adult reviews is still top center of every single pageload here. The adult forum is still linked in the forum list.
