The post office be all stupid....

This is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen, and it could have been even worse.

We put an envelope to be mailed in the envelope recepticle. It was over 13 oz. Fortunately, it is a small town, so they called me. They let me know that post office regulations state that because it is over 13 oz. it had to be handed directly to a clerk. Normally they would return it with instructions, but it is a small town.

I go to the post office and stand in line. I say to the clerk, "I got a call about a package I was suppose to hand directly to you."

She looks at me confused and says, "Cathy?"

Cathy comes out, hands me the envelope, I hand it back, and leave.

What the hell is going on?

I seem to recall them implementing that rule after 9/11 and the anthrax scares. Fear makes humans do stupid things.

Unless you have naked pictures of this "Cathy" woman, this thread does not deliver.

Well I live in the big city and it is posted on all of the mailboxes that I have used, and I had the mailman give me back a package I was mailing for my boss, cause he did not know me, told me I would have to take it to the postoffice.

I ran into someone I hadn't seen in about seven years on the train last night. He didn't hand me an envelope, though.

No the post office is not stupid. Not until May 15th. Then I'll think they're stupid.

That is stupid. I bought a roll of the new ones already just so I don't have to mess with it. Actually, I think I bought 4 rolls.

I thought everyone knew about this rule. This thread should be titled, kvrdave be all stupid. Even if they know you personally, they don't know you dropped it in the box.
