Do you have a Say in how your Partner Dresses ?

Do you ?

My gf and i have a huge say in how we both dress. I always run new looks past her. She does the same with me. We often shop for clothes together. Most of her lingerie has been bought by me

On the flip, i have a mate who gets walked over by his missus. She tells him what to wear and how to wear it but she wears whatever she wants with no input from him. There are a few things she wears that he hates, but he just says nothing.

Nope, not even a little bit. She, on the other hand, is almost 100% responsible for what I buy and wear.

Its not that I don't have the balls to choose for myself, it's only that I just don't care enough to expend the energy.

Nope, she doesn't care about what I wear and I don't care what she wears. Most of the time, she winds up wearing my old shirts anyway.

She has a say in my clothes because I like it that way. I hate shopping for myself, except for jeans because I'm particular about the way they fit so I don't let her buy me jeans. I like the stuff she buys me, and if I don't I just tell her.

I have somewhat of a say in stuff she likes. She will ask me my opinions about stuff she's thinking about buying, but I like her taste so I don't mind whatever she wears.

I have no reason to tell her what to wear because she does fine herself.

I, on the other hand, could always use some help. She often reminds me to put on sleves or a jacket when we're going out. When she keeps her mouth shut, I end up in short sleeves in cold weather. It's the worst when we go out late in the day because it's colder by the time we need to get home.

My wife makes "suggestions" when I'm shopping for clothes.

Neither of us have any say. I wear khakis and a button down every day to work and a t-shirt and jeans every day on the weekends, there's really not much to say anyway.

The better half makes suggestions on what I should wear. And bam, She is usually right on what looks the best.

Most of the stuff we have bought for each other ends up unworn in the closet, so we've pretty well given up on it, and just shop for ourselves now. There is some grumbling about me "not dressing my age," but if work doesn't require me to wear button-downs or polos and khakis, why should she?

Yes and no. I shop with him for his clothes - but only as a companion. I'll occasionally pick something out that I like for him, but I don't choose his clothes. On the other hand, he picks out and buys most of my clothes. He has good taste so I don't mind one bit.

Following are the clothing items that I have purchased for myself since I graduated from college more than 7 years ago:
3 pairs of jeans from the Gap.
1 Belt (reversible, black or brown)
T-shirt (says Denver, Colorado on the front)
T-shirt (Venice Beach tourist shirt)
T-shirt (Picture of a bull on it. I bought it in Spain, I never wear it)
White undershirts
Socks
Boxers
2 Pairs of tennis shoes
1 Pair sandals

I believe I bought a ballcap in 2003 and a fishing-style hat from Mexico in 2002 or 2003 but I don't wear them any more.

Anything else has either been a gift or my wife picked it up because I had something too worn out for her to put up with.

We buy our own clothes. I have higher standards of what's appropriate dress, so I sometimes have to tell her to change before we go out. She wants to dress like a scruffy artist all the time.

This is what I do. Aside from not liking certain colors, he's laid back about his clothes, and doesn't mind input. He has great style without trying, so most of my suggestions are close to what he'd pick out anyways.

As for my clothes, he loves me in anything, and he knows what colors/cuts/items I like, so he's the first person I've ever known who I trust to buy me clothes without me seeing/trying them on first (including my family, who never seem to notice how "not me" their gifts are). Other than that, I buy most of my own clothes, because I like clothing shopping, and he doesn't. He's fine with whatever I want to wear... although there've been a few times where he's expressed an opinion that I might want to rethink a shirt because of its transparency, or how low cut it is.

Every once in a while, I'll tell the girlfriend I don't like what she's wearing. Other than that, she does just fine.

I don't buy clothes for myself. Either the girlfriend does it for me, or she picks it out and I pay for it.

It's been that way for my entire life. When I was younger, instead of a girlfriend, it was my mother.

I have a good sense of style, so I buy all of my own clothes.

I just started dating a new girl, so I don't have a say in what she wears, but she dresses cute, so I wouldn't change it anyway.

For the most part, whenever anyone buys me any item of clothing as a gift, I never wear it. This is especially true with my family, although SOs in the past have occasionally gotten it right.

The only friend of mine whose style I can judge correctly is someone whom I've known for over ten years and I limit myself to getting him esoteric t-shirts.
