w00t! New (to me) truck!

Just wanted to share, since I'm excited to be getting out of my decade+ old Saturn and into something new.

Video

http://home.comcast.net/~tk0014/gifs...a_for_mike.wmv

I'm driving down to Tampa to pick it up tonight.

Did you ever get in touch with RandyC regarding the use of Otter technology to share your run ins/overs with/of the cyclist crowd while driving your new truck?

This is probably a silly question but did you actually have a saturn for 10+ years?

Yep, I bought a '98 SL2 new in September of '97 and drove it up until Friday afternoon. Excellent mechanical, good paint except for a dollar bill sized spot on the hood, and the only accessory problem is the left rear power window sticks sometimes. I could probably have put another decade on it, but needed to upgrade to a 4x4 with 7,000 lb tow capacity. I'm gonna miss the Saturn's 25/35 gas mileage!

That's where my agent put it, so I just copied the link. When did RS become deprecated? Would you be happy if I put it up on my own host?

ive had 2 saturns. both were great cars with great gas mileage.
i just hate rapidshare because of thier limits. it seems like everything i i stumble across is linked to rapid share. i really dont care to see your vid but alot of people do frequent sites that have rapidshare links who arent paid members which means they can only download so much in a certain time.

Rapidshare is fine, but it's a little much to go through just to see a pic of somebody's new used truck.

Just a big move to go from a sat to a tundra.

Are you getting a camper? Is that what the tow's for? Everyone I know seems to be getting one. But after they use mount it, they get more picky about their trucks.

We're moving to Alaska at the end of the summer. I knew I needed a vehicle that could get me to work in the Alaskan winters. Also, we're moving ourselves in a 20' box trailer, so I needed a truck to pull it. The truck I got already had a nice contractor-grade A.R.E. cap on it as well.

Here's the new link, video (11.9 MB) stored on my own host:

Can't say I've ever seen a Tundra with a step side. Maybe a regional thing? Half of the guys I work with drive one too.

My dad has a F-150, but want to trade in on a Tundra. They are super nice. Good choice.

Florida to Alaska - another big move.

Good luck.

You'll need it.

AGuyNamedMike,

I'm guessing this is going to be one hell of a climate change for you. Those V8 Tundras are rather nice. Once they were released, I've seen several of them around here.

Yeah, my wife and I have been planning this move for a couple of years. The climate change will be radical, but we both have winter experience. I'm from Virginia, and lived in Germany for several years, and my wife grew up in Maine, then lived in Colorado for several years.

Yes, the Tundra became my number one choice after six months of research. I've even been "cheating" on Otter by lurking at the Tundrasolutions and Tundratalk forums.

My in-laws have a Tundra and it is a nice truck. If we didn't need an SUV I would buy it from them.

Congrats. Toyota trucks are hard to beat. I've had my Tacoma for 6 years and still love it, no problems yet. I hope to have it for six more.

I have always had a fascination for Alaska: the wide open spaces, the rugged conditions, the "last frontier" feeling. During a random conversation with my wife this came up, and she has the same fascination. So, we decided then to make a plan to get there. Here we are, four years later, and the plan is really coming together.

For the viewing ease of the 2 or 3 Otters who might enjoy it, here it is in my driveway:

Great score! You picked the perfect time to buy, too, since gas prices have never been cheaper!

Seriously, though, nice truck.

have fun filling that beast up. I bet you love it when gas goes up to 5-10 bucks a gallon.

I dunno, I reckon it'll remind me of the years I lived in Germany.

I belong to both!

I was getting a new Ridgeline, but now looking at Tundras.
