LAX to Hollywood/Vine @ 8pm...what is the quickest route?

La Cienega -> La Brea -> Highland seems like the most direct route, but there's probably TONS of traffic lights?

So, 405 to 101 or 405 to 10 to La Brea?

Or something better? And what is an estimate on how long this will take at 8pm on a week night?

Helicopter.

Night-time is the right time to travel around here (as long as it isn't Friday or Saturday night).

So what, around 40 minutes?

Helicopter sounds about right. I hate La Cienega.

I was taught the surface street route (when I was a shuttle driver) and it has always been the quickest.

if you're leaving LAX at 8 PM, then traffic shouldn't be too bad on a weekday.

If you go 405 to 10 to La Brea, you have to go up quite aways. But if you're into sight seeing, you'll pass Hell's Kitchen and LA Ink on your way up to Hollywood / Vine.

Where are you going to ? Avalon ? Capitol Records ?

There are fewer lights on Highland, and if you want to avoid Sunset traffic, you can cut across on Fountain or even go up to Selma and then cut over. At that time of night, taking the freeway will be fine.
