Found a blackberry, or Im having one great week!

Found a blackberry in a cab the other day. Just picked it up while I was getting out and the cab drove off.

I want to get this back to the owner but he hasnt called himself yet, plus its locked so i cant really go through it and find the owner. What should i do?

Hey, that's awesome!

Do you know who the carrier is? I'm sure if you return it to them they can get it back to the owner.

Can you tell if it is a ATT, Verizon or another carrier's phone? If so, take it into the store and they will be able to look who the owner is by using some identifier (SIM card maybe). I would not give possession to the store but rather keep it yourself until the owner picks it up himself.

I just called the cab company, and they said their policy is that you are a thief.

You could enter the password 10 times in a row incorrectly, at whicn point it will revert itself back to factory defaults (aka, wipe everything off it).

So you've had this blackberry for a few days now without one single call? Somehow I don't think this person really needs a blackberry.

I left my digital camera in a cab in Vegas once. I was so pissed at myself. That's what I get for rushing to that Wayne Newton show. Hop in your time machine and set it for July 2004 and maybe you'll have a shot at getting it.

It did force me to replace it with a better camera, though (I was in Vegas for a buddy's bachelor party and wanted to have a camera for the wedding the following week).

You know, not everyone uses their Blackberry as a phone. My mom, a lawyer at a big firm, has a Blackberry provided by her firm but only uses it for email. She has a separate cell phone that she likes better.

As long as you took it out of the cab's lost and found, it's not stealing.
