Site to find a brief bio of Robert E. Lee?

Wiki's bio is way too long and would take me too much time to edit. I'd have to replace TONS of the vocab so my kids could understand it. Other sites gives a couple short paragraphs.

I need a bio about two pages thats reasonably easy for my "low" level 8th graders to read. Any ideas?

This one is rather short and concise.

Two caveats. The first sentence is completely wrong and they don't mention his most famous derogatory nickname "The King of Spades" (That's spade as in "shovel".)

That still has vocab thats too difficult "Lee returned to Richmond as a paroled prisoner of war, and submitted with the utmost composure to an altered destiny. " Thats ebtebnce would have my kids' heads spinning for weeks.

My kids enjoy reading about the person's family life, marriages, death, with just a brief hint of their military careers. (that stuff we cover during the week).

Worst case I'll just have to combine that one with the wiki article.

If eighth-grade students can't understand that sentence, then you should be having some discussions with the English faculty at your school.

Lee lived before the war at what is now know as the National Cemetery in Arlington VA.

It might be an interesting fact if it was not mentioned in other things posted before.

Wikipedia actually has a "Simple English" encyclopedia, with easier to read versions of articles. The one for Robert E. Lee is horrendous, however:

Robert E. Lee was a slavemaster who fancied himself a General. He waged war on Abraham Lincoln who freed the slaves and told General US Grant (who was named after America) to fight Lee. Grant fought Lee and won because Lee quit. Lee was placed under house arrest until he died sometime later. Popular 70s tv show Dukes of Hazzard called their car General Lee in honor of the 1800s slavemaster.

He was a general.

Now give me money (That's my demand, not part of the bio).
