Does Twix taste different to anyone else?

Does Twix taste different to anyone else?

And I don't just mean in the last month or year. I mean like in the last 10 years.

Could be my taste buds have changed but I doubt it would make Twix taste that much different.

I can't decide if it's the chocolate that taste different or the cookie...or both.

Yes, I know, this is a very plexing issue that definitely warrants a thread.

Just curious.

The peanut butter ones suck now! They've gone to a chocolate cookie instead of the regular cookie, and I don't care for it one bit!

Those are special editions, they still make the regular cookie. I do concur with your assessment regarding the chocolate cookie: It is the suck.

Yes, the regular Twix does taste different than it used to. It used to be one of my favorites, but now I just find it to be acceptable.

I was thinking this as well, which is why I rarely get them anymore. Not that I got them super frequently before, but it was one of my favorite bars as a kid. These days it's not the same. It also seems like the bars themselves got smaller.

Either that, or you have gotten bigger.

I hadn't had a Twix bar in quite a few years, but I spotted one in the grocery store and decided to revisit an old favorite. It tasted totally different than I remembered- to the point that I almost called to complain. The only thing that held me back was the thought that it may have changed 5 years ago, and it would seem odd that I was just noticing it now.

It's been a while since I had one, but this thread makes me want to avoid them now. I usually do anyways, since I try to eat healthy and all that shit, but a change in taste won't get me to buy one anytime soon.

I'm surprised more companies haven't jumped on the natural sweetener bandwagon. It seems like it would be a good way to distinguish your product from your competitors.

Colas made with cane sugar taste so much better than typical sodas. I've also had a really good tonic water - Q Tonic, which is sweetened with agave. That's some good, but pricey, stuff. I gladly pay more, though, to avoid high fructose corn syrup.

As for Twix, I wouldn't have had any since the change, but I remember liking them.

White chocolate Twix - now those were delicious. Haven't seen them around in over a year now, though.

Another possibility is that they removed the trans fat, if it contained that before.

Removing trans fat would never make something taste worse.

I was just about to post the same thing.

Does anyone else have any food cravings threads to make or can I leave the grocery list at Twix and Corn Dogs?

I don't think Oreoes would taste as good without the transfat.

Wasn't the removal of trans fat the culprit in the Hamburger Helper change thread? That's why I suggested that's what happened here (if it really does taste different now).

I noticed this too! The cookie part seems...almost stale now. Seems like it's been that way for a couple years. I used to like them a lot more, but now I'm not really tempted...
