I imagine I will someday show up on one of these lists.

Not Darwin Award stuff, but just unusual deaths. Some pretty creepy, too!

A 58 year old man dies while having sex? A man has a heart attack while running? A man gets into a car crash? A boxer gets killed in the ring?

If it's supposed to be interesting deaths, this list is pretty padded.

I worked with the fiancee of the guy who failed in his demonstration how unbreakable his office window is.

Not knowing who she was, a co-worker had a conversation with the fiance about our new office location to a higher floor and the view it gave. He jokingly mentioned that he should test the windows strength by jumping up against it "like that moron did years earlier". He was immediately brought up to speed on her connection to the guy, and was very embarrased and felt horrible. He couldn't believe his bad luck.

The lady in the airport who strangled her self is the front runner in the Darwin awards. Gary Hoy (#14) comes in a strongly close second. Some of the others...well, some of them died doing what they loved. Yeah, it sucks Steve Irwin got killed, but I bet if he had things to do over again, he'd probably be more careful with the sting rays, but still be putting his life at risk with wild animals at every chance he got. He LOVED doing what he did. Same with the grizzly bear guy...sure it sucked what happened to him, but at least he did something with his life to be remembered by. What have most of us done? Post on DVDtalk in between working menial jobs and sleeping? Yeah, we're ones to point fingers at others, that's for sure.

During a break while filming the 1984 TV series "Cover Up," actor Jon-Erik Hexum, 27, playfully put a prop pistol loaded with a blank cartridge to his temple and pulled the trigger. The blast shattered his skull and left him brain dead. His organs were harvested and he was then taken off life support.

William Henry Harrison, the ninth president of the United States, died of pneumonia on April 4, 1841, exactly one month after taking office. Harrison had delivered his two-hour inaugural address outdoors, in the cold, with no overcoat.
So that is why mothers all over the world today insist on bundling their children up in excessive layers of clothes, even when it's just balmy outside.

At an after-work party in 1993, Canadian attorney Garry Hoy was showing a group of visiting law students how unbreakable the windows were in the Toronto-Dominion Bank Tower (center). He threw himself against one and it held. He did it again, and it gave way. Hoy plunged 24 stories to his death

Darwin Award potential.

New Yorker Carol Gotbaum died while in police custody at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport in 2007. Authorities said she may have strangled herself while attempting to get out of handcuffs.

Darwin Award potential.

How come no one brings up evolution and Darwin when someone's poor cat or dog has unfavorable traits and/or a genetic predisposition to diseases? Instead condolences are offered. Sounds lame to me.

Or, um, a person with any number of genetic diseases. Haha! You have hemophilia!

One of reasons Fixx was into running and health was because he had a history of heart disease in his family. His father died very young of a heart attack, and it's quite possible that Fixx's lifestyle extended his own life by a great many years.

It's because Darwin had nothing to do with it. Purebred pets are deliberately bred for genetic diseases. Breeders would never drop a breeding line that tends towards painful diseases but has great nose conformation.

Here's a new one:

ABBA Drummer Found Dead

Posted Mar 17th 2008 10:39AM by TMZ Staff

Swedish super-band ABBA's long-time drummer Ola Brunkert was found dead in his Mallorca, Spain home over the weekend.

Spanish police say the gruesome death was caused by a freak accident in which Brunkert bled to death after puncturing his throat with a broken piece of glass. According to CNN, police believe the drummer may have fallen against a glass partition that separated his kitchen from his garden, causing the glass to break and fatally cut his throat.

Brunkert was not one of the four "famous" members of ABBA, but was a studio drummer who played on all their albums.

Or not. Probably not. Okay maybe, but his lifestyle before that is what killed him, pretty sure his 2 pack a day and 240+ is what did him in.

He was an idiot, that tried to cash in on his stupidity. Okay maybe the people that bought his books and story are the bigger idiots, he was smart to cash in.
