My Car just died on the Freeway.

I was just on my over to someone's house and then as im slowing down, I shift from 5th to 4th and all of the sudden it just pops and i cant put the stick in any of the positions. I pull over and flash my hazards and I couldnt even start the car.

Long story short, 2 hours and 3 phone calls later im home with no car. = (

Did you try one of the call boxes that are positioned every quarter mile?

You know there's a free service that Caltrans has to tow your car to the nearest Park n Drive? I found t his out last year when I was riding with a friend and her car lost a timing belt. I'm not sure if it operates 24/7, though.

That may no longer be true - I read that the boxes were either being removed or not repaired if damaged due to cell phone use making them obsolete. So, the few remaining people in the world - or on California freeways - that don't own a cell phone will be outta luck.

I've never broken down. Who do you call when you break down?
