store i work at got robbed at gunpoint

Got home bout 3 hours ago. It was 3 black guys, one had a gun at another employee's head, and I had to give them all the money in the registers (about 150 or so in cash.) a bunch of cigars, took a few lighters, and then bizzarily enough, as they were leaving, one went over and took a few slim jims, before they all ran out of the store.

Nobody was hurt, the guy i was working with knows one of the suspects, and is a regular (always comes in stoned, or something, always babblingg some wierd shit.) They both also wanted our cell phones, I assume so it would prevent us from calling the police.

Thankfully it didn't end up much worse, with like them using the gun on us, or taking our wallets and or car keys.

hopefully they will. the cops know where the one guy lives (they were able to check for his address. they also apparently hit another gas station about 2 miles down the road.

I've never been thru something like that, but I would imagine that, after the shock wears off, everything would seem a little better - food would taste better, holding loved ones would be sweeter, just breathing would seem like a blessing.

Glad you're ok. Hope they catch the guys.

Thank goodness no one was physically hurt and that nothing irreversible occurred.

Glad to hear you and your co-worker are OK. Hopefully these guys get caught and punished severely. (Then again, I wish that'd happen to ALL criminals, but don't want to take the thread OT.)

Amen to that! I can't imagine the change in perspective that would give someone, or at least could. Again, glad you're OK Rypro.

Glad to hear you're ok.

Nothing like risking years in prison for a small amount of cash...and slim jims!

Glad you weren't hurt! I can't imagine how fucked up a situation like that must be - not knowing if the craphat holding the gun is going to use it or not. Fuck! I hope the laws about armed robbery are very, very severe where you are so these 'tards - when caught - spend a long time in a small cell.

probably because he was describing him. I'm sure he would of said the gentlemen were white if they were.

Everyone is so quick to jump to some sort race card offense.

Since when has it been offensive to mention what someone's race is?

naaah...

nice thing to imagine though...

things are hairy for a little while during the event though... i was sure my guy was gonna pop me in the face... i was the manager of a Pizza Hut while going to school... there alone at 1:00 AM, just before closing on a rather remote highway strip mall...

"does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours"...
in those situations the seconds are hours... and i just kept thinking 'POP' now... 'POP' now... 'POP' now... he was young and freaked out with a long barreled revolver in my case... it was hairy...

OP glad you're a survivor too...

it's a hell of a story to have around for dinner tables and whatnot... lol... try to work in "we lost a lot of good men out there" and you'll get chicks by the bucketloads...

Only because you're a metal fan:

I'm glad it came out as good as it did for you, what a sketchy scenario. I've never been in that situation, and hope I never do.

You notified your cell phone company that the phone was stolen, right?

Unfortunately, the way the contracts are written you are responsible for any charges made on a stolen cell phone - which is one reason why I don't have a cell phone, though I am being tempted by the prepaid TracFone / Net10 phones (same company).

Let's hope they're not smart enough to use the cells or you guys had them locked...it'd be a shame if those idiots got any contact/personal information from them..

I'm disappointed. Over twenty responses and nobody has suggested the death penalty or having the guys thrown into a vat of acid or anything. You guys have gone soft.

We both cancelled our cell phones. No updates if they found them yet or not, but they are looking for them. they had apparently robbed a sunoco gas station 10 minutes earlier (same discription). Hell now that i think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if they if the little bandanas they had on to cover their faces, were stollen from our store, since, i don't think i've ever sold any. Shit, they prob took the money so they could use it to buy weed, they took enough cigars (2 whole cases)

Also, due to this happening, our store now closes at 10pm too for our safety (and the fact that there is section 8 housing)

Well, not necessarily. Late last year AT&T settled a huge lawsuit which was about this very thing. AT&T is going to pay back cell phone consumers dating back to 2003 for accounts not credited for stolen phones and subsequently placed phone calls.

But it's still wise to report the phone stolen and request an investigation and anything available to you from the cell phone company. AT&T customers should have received the new rules/stipulations from AT&T around now I would think.

State Of California vs. AT&T Judgment (65 KB PDF).
