seeking otter knowledge on ellipticals

i have searched our dear friend google without any luck, so i am hoping that a fellow otter can help out here. i have a nordic track cx 1055 elliptical trainer. long story short, the belt broke, ordered a new one, but have no freakin idea how to put it together. manual doesnt even have the belt in it (i bought it already assembled so i have no idea if the belt was already in place or not). i know, odd question, but does anyone know how to replace the belt???

You could check to see if you have a fitness equipment repair company in your area. Most larger cities have one. They can come out and take care of it or, depending on who you talk to, give you a quick how-to over the phone.

Step 1 - remove old belt
Step 2 - install new belt

Is that really so hard?

took the panels off. everything is exposed. however, we now have to somehow disassemble the wheel from the bar that it is attached to in order slip the belt onto the wheel. additionally, it looks too long (even though we verified that it was the right part, indicating that it perhaps needs to wrap around something else?

Check the manufacturer's website for more detailed maintenance manuals? If its not there, try calling or emailing them. They are likely to have pdf versions somewhere.

Where did you buy it from?
